Hi folks. Quick question regarding the pre order for the new book: are there retailers in the UK who are taking orders or will this be a CB only deal as per the Gen Con packs (Dart being the most recent). Previous posts elsewhere mention orders being sent to distributors before individuals but I have yet to find a retailer here that has pre orders available & I'd rather not order from CB unless I have to as I've found the delivery company that handles orders once they reach the UK to be somewhat unreliable (loooooong story that resulted in me almost losing my copy of the jsa box). Many thanks for any help.
These are all stores that run regular events and actively support the game too, so money spent there is money spent well (along with buying from @ijw :D)
One billion times what Colbrook said. Also, Ibuywargames are running a promo for the book, pre-order from them and you get the chance to win a Harder and Steenbeck Infinity airbrush!
Quite so. Along with the added intrigue of when you may receive your randomly selected items or indeed if you will receive anything at all.
Funny story about Wayland. I once ordered a set of brushes and minis from them. 2 months later my order hasn't shipped, but being optimistic I made a new order for a couple of minis. Five minutes later, I got emails that both orders were shipped (separate emails for both of course). Coincidence?
Because they are sufficiently large with a sufficiently broad selection to generate a large presence and high hit-rate for online searches. Additionally, they maintain a large enough satisfied customer followers so that they are first in mind for ordering stuff that they don't need to rely on new customers only. The broad selection also means that you can order everything you need from one place instead of hunting around and ordering from several places. Even if a store is utter shite it'll generate enough income to merit it's continued existence. It's like I will never on a personal level understand why Media Markt is still in business (they don't even have a serviceable homepage!), but apparently enough people actually buy stuff from there that their owners continue to think the losses the chain generates in the Nordics are worth it long term.
I've never heard of Media Markt and checked the website and oh god my eyes This is my favourite wargaming model website: http://www.peterpig.co.uk/
I've had more good experiences with orders than bad with Wayland, but I absolutely agree that that is a poor review of them at best. Goblin Gaming also have pre-orders up (for Third Offensive at least, not the other November releases), and they've always been good with order fulfilment and communication, in my experience.
I find shaekonnitgames.com to be a great UK retailer. Very responsive and helpful. Also runs split box deals for Infinity.
