I think this might work as a good starting point...

Your two alpha strikes are sitting in a 3 man combat group, order starved. Your 2 smoke throwers are there too, also order starved. At least put Kitsune and Yojimbo in the main group to feed them orders. You'll want to trust me. Then put your Ryukens in the 2nd group as these are your ARO pieces, if you're starting the game in the reactive turn youre just gonna put the Ryuken smg in sup fire anyways and get rid of her hacking device, heavy repeater factions will easily harass her and force her out of sup fire which is her saving grace, if she's not a hacker, your opponent is forced to fight her in her best game. The HRL is just waiting for an opening so he doesnt need orders either. Demote the regular Oniwaban into a regular Ninja Hacker and your choice which combat group you want him in cause he can serve both as ARO supplement by putting targeted on opponent's out of LoF that your Ryuken are already shooting at so it doesnt need orders. Or, use in the active turn to gank other Skirmishers, target enemies outside LoF or grab objectives each turn instead trying to match someone up from your DZ. Since you're JSA, you could potentially win games with no high burst weapons buuuut, consider taking at least one anyways... I see you wanna go for the Karakuri+Dom+Oda Haris it looks like but you might as well full invest in the Keisotsu Core team and double up with a 6th man to replace a team member if they die and keep your 5 member bonuses... I'd suggest finagle the the Domaru into the Spirfire, and do what you will with the Karakuri's points. This way the Domaru Spitfire has BS15 and throws 5 dice in the reactive turn. He can be your spearhead from your DZ and Shiobu and Yojimbo can can flank. If you come across a hard mim-6 target, switch to smoke and MSV tempeitai as the team leader to keeps the odds in your favor. Should your Ryukens survive to turn 2, you practically have the game in the bag. Theoretically of course.

Try to line up your Ryuken to the most likely attack vector so your opponent gets an unexpected double ARO, possibly a triple ARO if your Ninja hacker is in the right position. If you cant be sure where the attacks will come from like up the Ryukens to one vector and lay the trap with ninja hacker and smg Ryuken at another vector (preferably where the hacker will be most effective like against a gun fighting REM or HI. A TAG is a usual Alpha strike so feel free to converge all 3 ARO threats on its attack vector. Hope all this helps.

This is my version of your list. Mostly the same functionality with a little bit kick to it. No durable Karakuri but the fireteam can take twice the hit and still keep the 5 man bonus after reconstructing the team. If no one goes down then you also have a fireteam duo of a specialist CoC + Bodyguard should your Spitfire Lt fall. I dont like the Spitfire Lt paying for the extra order he cant use when not fielding the Daiyokai but you'll get a feel for what you like. But at least this list is more reliable in what you want to do now that the combat groups are straitened out and your orders are going to go where you want them to.

So with the original topic kept in mind and sticking to certain must haves with the Haris being the focal point what changes would be better to promote the Haris over the Keisotsu link? I've also got an upcoming game or two against a friend of mine who's getting into O12 and another friend running Nomads...

Well, as usual, build lists catered to missions. JSA is pretty flexible but their tactics should center on their 2 strategies.

There are some auto include units as well for me:

Kitsune, she will kill any individual model virtually 99% of all her engagements, you might as well call her widowmaker.

The 2 Ryuken profiles, only bring the hacker if she's your 3rd Ryuken and not in supfire or hacking range till the major hacking threat is dealt with. Line up the sup fire smg and the HRL for a double ARO on the most likely attack vector. Possibly with a Hidden Deployed Ninja hacker for an ultra strong ARO. Keep all your defense out of LoF to your opponents DZ.

One of the Oda profiles depending on what tactics you want to use.

Yojimbo is your toolbox character. He fixes your ground level problems and creates them for your opponent on any elevation.

The strategy for JSA is twofold:

Firstly, Alpha strike the hell out of your opponent aiming for the most durable, expensive, critical segment of your opponents list. So TAGs, mobile MSV units with more than 1 wound, Lts with an easy CoC target, ultra hackers. 1-2 doses of Oniwaban.

Secondly, Trap and layer up different AROs in the Midfield with Ryuken, deployable explosives(mines and koalas) and Hidden Deployed hacking. Supported by versatile and durable HI. Dont let your opponent shoot you from their DZ, force them to the midfield, let your opponent expend orders coming to you and getting close enough for a sword.

JSAs game is not shooting or hacking, play to the two strengths of JSA without compromise.

As for anything else you bring. It's just dependent on opponent's style, how you want to support your strategy and mission specific units, like how Karakuri hold ground better than Domaru but Domaru have stealth and can instakill/disable something within 8 inches...

Karakuri MK12 and Oyama pair well cause of matched BTS 6, your opponent will have a tougher time hacking them. Then either have Oda in the team to repair and lay mines near objectives and obvious hackers or have her already up the field with utilizing her mine layer a and have the Kempeitai MSV as the 3rd member of the Haris.

I know very little about JSA but what role is the EVO filling here? Seems like there's nothing to buff and no AD troops. Also seems like shinobu might make a better Lt choice as you already have CoC and oyama can't use the Lt order in the link. I like the idea of this list though, would personally want to expand group 2 or go LI but that depends on season 12 rules.

JSA's strongest tactic for me so far has been a linked MSV2 Kempetai supported by Smoke and at least one CC trooper and one unhackable Trooper in his Link.
Domaru/Neko + Yuriko + Kempetai Haris, or either of the Core Links works fine.

Then you'll want a Smoke upfield, ideally 2 out of Yojimbo, Kuroshi, Shinobu and Saito.
Chugg the Smone, walk up the Kemp's expendable Link move Domaru or Yuriko in ZOC depending on if there's a Hacker or not to trigger a ZOC ARO and oppose it with the Kemp in positive Rangebands.
MSV1/2 AROs can mostly be dealt with through Yojimbo's Koalas and a follow up from something high Burst and expendable like a TR Bot.
Hard targets are food for the Domaru's E/M CCW or Grenades given go good target to hit multiple things at once.
Yuriko covers Specialist duty, Mine+Panzerfaust utility and gets the Domaru/Neko up and running in case of a Hack oer Jammer.

Against everything else the Kemp is rolling 4 dice vs a Dodge -3. Only DAM13, but should be good enough against up to ARM5 in Cover at the FTF odds he is gonna get. Beyond that E/M should work.

Neko ofc brings an extra Order via Tactical Awareness and E/M Grenades. Domaru Spitfire brings B5 DAM15 for additional punch.

Interesting thought's as far as go-to units and somewhat had kind of written off keisotsus but now I'm trying to decide if picking up another box to bolster the starter box of them I got is the better path...

Kitsune would be the better Lt, the evo is to defend against AD and support the two HI, making them harder to hack

So this revision puts more into smoke and minimizing the hack game, an issue I foresee against my buddy playing nomads. This I feel also allows for more flexibility with my links and can create the advantages needed. The O12 on the other hand I’m just not sure about though.

Thanks for the reply. As primarily a nomads player I hadn't looked at fairy dust close enough to see it buffs all troops of a certain type. That's pretty cool. I also hadn't considered AD defence and I guess a reasonably cheap order for JSA.

So our city has gone back into lockdown so games have been put on hold as my group is not a fan of TTS... I did see however a couple of lists that won some local games without an EVO in the list, how necessary is it to have that in a list especially when you're running possibly one or two hackable units?

How critical are the hackable units?

Are they my-TAG-has-only-BTS-6-shit critical? Or are they Ninja Killer Hacking Device critical?

Karakuri is mostly fine on its own, but leave my Shikami alone, mr. Hacker...

It's on Steam. In order to play Infinity you'll need to download the relevant mod from the Workshop.

This thread goes into more detail, though may be slightly outdated due to N4 switch.
    https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/how-to-tabletop-simulator.36846/

Edit; figured I should mention the program isn't free, but can be well worth its cost if you have other friends to play board games with due to the variety of games it can simulate.
