I've started to paint one of my Makauls and there is one thing that got me bogged down -- what is this thing on his back? A backpack? An ammo pack? A scabbard for CCW? I'm quite confused.

I always thought it was the tank for the flammable liquid for the flamethrower

This could be true, but this thingy is present on every Makaul model, while only two loadouts actually have flamethrowers.

It's their backpack, you can see the 3D redesigned one (bigger and rounder) in the Cube Jäger.

Seems that you're right, it does look much more like a backpack on a Cube Jäger. Guess the mystery is finally solved -- I was wondering what that bit was since I started collecting Tohaa 5 years ago =]
