The Asura is the iconic postergirl for OSS just as Achilles is the face of the ASS. Though while the two are in the same point category the Asura has seemed a bit lacking recently. With the overpriced nature of MSV3, shock ammo being buffed to affect HI and affordable access to HD+ in the shape of the Danavas. Now, we know we will see some changes in her loadout in the future with the multi-rifle hacker profile, but what else would she need to keep her place at the apex of an army of elite badasses? I see the new units with their Shock Immunity and Bioimmunity, if we gave her this she would be more in like with her place before the buff to shock ammo. Maybe even give her Total Immunity to balance her out with Achilles a bit, strengthen her where his weaknesses lie. I'd like to see her wade through the fire of a flamethrower, untouched, while smirking at her doomed foes. It'd make her a heck of a tanky unit while still being so in a very different way from Achilles and his face-to-face firefight specialty. What ideas do you have?
Total immunity sounds great but my priority would be to make her cheaper. We still don't know if CB is going to fix prices of nwi and msv3. When I'll have to spend 80 points for total immunity spitfire Asura, I'd rather take Marut or Yadu duo.
I am quite convinced by what "nemo no name" said on the news thread, that NWI+shock immunity fits better lorewise (and prevents unconscious) than 3W. So Shock / bio / total immunity would be nice all around IF at no point increase. I would remove the combi rifle alltogether and replace it by a multi and bump her speed to 6-4 or 6-2
There is combi rifle on the dossier but if there is no combi hacker, I wonder what would be the combi profile. I know that not every weapon form dossiers will be on profiles but with only 3, there most likely be some combi loadout.
I'm afraid of the possibility that they'll make a assault hacker profile with the multi rifle and keep the combi with the HD+
If its on profile multi hacker would probably be my go to to save on points from a danavas and get heavy infantry at the same time for a sweet specialist. But the issue now is she is competing against a dakini link team thats super toolboxy more orders and with yadu and danavas possibly included extremely versatile. In another thread I said would I run a yadu duo or an asura? I think if she gets a points decrease i will see her more in vanilla mainly because I love all the models for them. If she was a bit more interesting to play with abilities like super jump or faster move, Anything really to show that she is infact a terminator badass and not just generic good heavy who pays alot of points for msv 3. Total immunity would be cool and show that no matter what you throw at her she will just keep coming.
I can see the Yady NCO working with an Asura Lt - both can make good use of the Lt order, you just can choose which one will use it depending on the situation. I'm not sure i would like to take a shukra Lt through, he is an obvious but weak (compared to our standards) Lt who can go down to a single wound - shukra CoC feels better to me to assist an Asura Lt.
I think the idea would be to have a Core + Haris, with one Sukra Multi in one, and one Sukra Multi on another, or even 2 sukras on the same Core... That way you force your opponent to kill both, since hitting the Lt first will just remove Strategos 1 from the next turn...
