Hexas Agent Protege has a mysterious past. She has been an Aristeia! star, and currently works for the Bakunin Sports Crimes unit, an Uberfallkommando of large size “the Biggest Bahadur”. She has of course been a Bahadur: Name ; Kara Black Association : Uberfallkommando Sports Crimes Section Faction : Bakunin Career : Aristeia Star, police, Hexas Kara sought fame in Aristeia, was trained by TaoWu and betrayed by same. She found herself to merely be a copy of the magician and went into the fights on teams that could not afford him. Although making her way to Bahadur one time, her lack of sponsors and originality started her on the road to lower class circuits such as the Circular arenas. She met loads of has beens, though the Circular circuits were lucrative. In the end after gaining all she could about “might have” stories she isolated a possible solution. A trip to Bakunin and application for the Sports crimes Section of the police accepted, she received modifications that enlarged her to epic proportions, with the requisite constitution and strength to match. Of course she is now an Uber Fall Kommando, and has to work out her term but she is enlisted in the legal and illegal fight circuits as part of her undercover work, so in the end she is the “greatest” Bahadur! Quotes: “I’m the biggest Bahadur you will ever see!” “Lemme at em!” “Undoubtably the one time that this lady scored as Bahadur, I mean the contenders were sparse that season, not to knock her ability… Any way that one time has her as a permanent social interest in the other circuits as she is possibly the only Bahadur they will ever see, barring the Robots. (Vince McMahogany on Aristeia Report! ) “Ok, we want illegal drugs stopped, that’s defined as destructive drugs that we do not sell. Ya got that Uberfallkommando? “(Police captain) Here is her continuing story: Home Protege walked in to her quarters at a seamy Bakunin hostel. She had passed the drugged out, homeless and Wierd in the hallways. Knowing them to be undercover guards and in position she felt safe here. The Uberfallkommando were a protected species of agent. The lights came on green, indicating no security breach and illuminating her current trio of pupniks in their areas, one playing a game on a portable holo and the rest snoozing before work. Work was an Aristeia! underground match in a few hours. She undressed and showered, then got into her kit. Armor plates in places like arms, a 360 visor, jumpsuit overalls. Pockets with various tricks of the trade including reloads for the viral needles, a bandolier to carry the holo kit and her tang pa, a shield and a cestus-like mace atop a gloved bracer. She meticulously went over these with a small scope checking for flaws or wear. All good. She loaded the holo kit with small enabler bots that could start her regeneration mechanic. These were life and death, she had no cube backup. Then she checked her emails. Almost an atek, she depended on portable electronics even though Arachne protected Bakunin, the mothership that she served. Protected script 12 was of interest, her captain informed her of a target who had shown interest in Joao, one of her pupniks. If the target bought that one she was to ensure an accident (pupnik was too excited, rough, killed the buyer) happened. She would slightly miss Joao, oh well. She examined the opposing team. Another group of beatniks for a thrill, taking on the greatest Bahadur, probably with side bets. She and three pupniks should have little problem though the opposing group was armed with blade only. Gotta watch for ringers. Final email was from the Katz Group, the bureau noir moniker for those who had been there on circular C6 in that murder mystery. They were in the area and wanted tea after the fight, she would see if she had the energy. She called up the handler with a single button, a recorded message to collect and replace pupniks after the match went through. Time for a nap. Arena “Just a dam minute” she called to her pupniks as the opposing team appeared. These weren’t knife armed types, it was a trap! “Avoid and close” she ordered, recognizing the enemy. She hadn’t seen the likes for 20 years, probably chosen to Wierd her out. This was going to be a fight. The pupniks ran to left and right centre, keeping behind cover as the arena was made to look like jungle terrain. She used their distraction to move closer to the hulking one. Shots rang out uselessly as she fired smoke to cover them all. No use hacking if that smaller figure in the back were a pro, she yelled instead “Revenant unit 64, stand down”, a code they had used a million times. Laughter from the hulk was cut short as her viral pistol and psi war immobilized him at once. One down, but don’t get in his line of sight. One of her pupniks engaged the knife wielding guy to the left, and the Wulver changed form to kill, then was tripped up by another pupnik at his heels. She lost them as the combi weapon wielding woman charged around a tree and used one of her holoports to not be there. She came in behind the hacker and killed it. Behind her she heard pupnik three do the combi rifle wielder. A screech heralded the death of one of the two pupniks fighting the wulver. Giving the lone pupnik a chance she immobilized the wulver as the hulk finally got free. He had no line of sight and she smoked some more to keep it that way. “Target 2” she indicated in her visor and both surviving pupniks hit the combi woman, a scream telling of her death. “Good fight” she mouthed, signaling the holo crew to perform her special cheat and was rewarded with gun jams on the hulk as she and her pupniks killed the wulver. They smoked up and surrounded the hulk with a “had enough?” To give him quarter. He nodded and slumped off. She wanted answers and her beacon lit up as a certain person bought joao for the night. O well she would need two replacements. Time for tea. Aftermath The new pupniks installed in the secret police lodge, Protege headed to her relax pad uptown. it was time for her to address the issues of Bakunin at large. Liberty Cargo, the cover company of the Hexas would be easy to contact and full of security holes. Somehow she opined that this could go her way as she investigated the troubling Aristeia trap and some problems (connected?) involving Tunguska Aristeia. Her new companions might prove useful as well as she was almost 100% certain that the hulk in the arena was a Yu Jing. (That suit wasn’t worn by an amateur) Now what did she want shipped innocuously to Tunguska? Who could hack and guard? What toys could she offer? She drew a tea and sat down in her living room deep in thought. “Ok “ she said to the empty room, “first strap on a Geist” (a wristwatch sized module she used instead of an implant). “Assign it to watching the web”. “Now I’m no hacker so I have to get the cat girl to set up warning programs” she paused, “Have to get more than basic hirelings if I’m outside police command” A trip to her undercover people would give her some nice tips, she was good at persuasion after all. “Ship something, accompany it, trap the spies” she finished. Then…interrogation.
The Ariadna Aristeia! Match re creating Sol’s greatest fights That Guy playing King Arthur had no chance.
A new Chapter The tea party went well. Some of the others had discovered a clue which the Agent was very concerned about. A throwaway comment from the Bakunin hacker about revisionist history between Maya and Arachne rang alarm bells. Apparently a cover/change up of an early nuclear exchange had occurred prior to the tsoliovsky tower building to service space transports. Records of this had existed on Maya but now was found only on Arachne. What else was happening if this was the tip of the iceberg? Could CA forces claim to be native soon? “Ridiculous” she said, vowing to investigate…
I have a small fact about Bakunin that may tie in with the story. Asgardia is a fantasy-real earth nation currently with its femtosatellite in orbit. It is real, idealistic as all heck and uses a crypto called solars. I can easily imagine this with its chaos as starting the Nomads.
