Player A has active turn and controls Saito Togan. Player B has reactive turn and controls Shang-Ji HRL and Zuyong ML. Player B will declare blast ARO with both models. Both blasts will hit. Q1. Saito enter base contact with AC2. Does it follow because Saito treats the AC2 as an enemy that the templates propagate to the AC2? 1a: If yes, HRL can't harm the AC2, is it still cancelled? 1b: If yes, ML can harm scenery, but not an enemy AC2, is it still cancelled? Q2: If Saito doesn't enter BtB with AC2, is it correct that it's OK for the templates to touch the friendly AC2? Does the answer change for a generic friendly destructible objective?
Just because it's an enemy to Saito it does not follow that it's an enemy to Player B. The fact that it's a Player B's AC2 and destroying it would prevent Player A having the opportunity to get the objective points for killing it is what would make me err to treating it as 'Friendly'.
As long as the template is placed in a point BEFORE entering in contact with the AC2, there is no problem. Apart that the template MUST NOT TOUCH the AC2. This is why sometimes you should use the Hit Mode...
This way madness lies. It's far easier to either : A. Treat Player B's AC2 as friendly to Player B at all times B. Treat Player B's AC2 as hostile to Player B at all times Making the identity of the AC2 contingent on whether or not Player A chooses to CC it this order or not is simply maddening.
No, wait... I mixed up things, it is the other way round... Sorry... You cannot target the AC2 if an enemy model is within template... Anyway... If you read the ITS rules, it does not seems that AC2 have "alignments"... They are destroyable. Full stop. If you place an Anti-Materiel blast on your AC2 (hitting Saito, as in the example) shame on you...
Are you sure you're talking about the right mission? "An AC2 can only be damaged by CC Attacks with CC Weapons possessing the Antimaterial Trait." Neither the HRL nor the ML are going to affect the AC2 in any way.
Sure, but that doesn't necessarily answer the question: My Riot Grrl throws a Stun Grenade, my Chimera (with TI) is hit by the template. Is the Stun Grenade cancelled? From everything I understand the answer is 'yes'. Thus I would expect that if the AC2 is friendly the template would be cancelled irrespective of whether or not the AC2 can be affected by the attack.
I am sure. I know the HRL can not damage the AC2, but is it a friend and cancels the template attack when template touches Saito while Saito is in base contact? Second part about the ML is less well deviced because I can't think of an objective that's both aligned to only one player and can be damaged by the ML.
Yes, but the AC2 is neither friendly, a trooper, an item of equipment or a deployable weapon etc. It's a Scenery Item and there are no rules that stop templates from hitting Scenery Items.
I can't think of anything in the rules that would make you treat it as a friendly trooper, it's a Scenery Structure/Scenery Item.
Hi! I really don't understand what the question really is... If the template touches any friendly model, then it is cancelled. In other case, the enemy model will be hit by the template (if the rolls go well, of course). Best regards!" This...
Under certain circumstances it is argued that terrain becomes an enemy trooper. @Mahtamori's question (I think) comes from an assumption that one player's enemy trooper is necessarily the other player's friendly trooper.
Thank you! That answers the question succinctly. Yes, my fear was that due to this the AC2 would also be treated as a friendly trooper for symmetry reasons.
IMPORTANT! Weapons and Ammunition with the Anti-materiel trait are the only means of attacking Scenery Structures. A Scenery Item cannot be chosen as the target of an Attack that would also affect troopers, be they enemy or allied. from here so when you attack troopers with antimaterial, you cant hit Scenery Items, if you attack scenery Item - you cant attack troopers.
‘Chosen as a target’ implies the main target not secondary targets. If this is true then Attacks that target troopers would also affect terrain but the reverse is not true. Ie you hit can a door if you target a trooper standing next to it but you can’t hit a trooper if you target the door they’re next to.
I call it NoobToobing (blatantly stolen from Halo2 community, I think) when you attack a target that's easier to hit than the one you actually want to kill. You can NoobToob scenery by hitting troopers, but you can not NoobToob troopers by hitting scenery.
