Hi everyone, I have a feeling this has been discussed before but I can't for the life of me find it. If a pilot dismounts a TAG in such a way that the TAG is in LOS of an enemy but the pilot is not, does the enemy get an ARO against the TAG? I believe they do, but don't have an exact rule in mind as to why
Nope, TAG never activates. It's specified where Mount/Dismount is explained, only the active piece activates; TAG on Mount and Pilot on Dismount. It's the same with bikes.
No, they don't. I don't remember if it's in the FAQ or in the rule itself or in the mount-dismount thing but it has been said that when you mount, the mounted profile is the one triggering ARO and when you dismount, it's the unmounted one which triggers. EDIT: ninja'd
By the way, this is a very dumb rulling You are watching the cockpit opening but you don't react, just because Tankhunter : "the cockpit of the Maghariba is oppening but I can't see the pilot, what should I do ? Do I destroy the whole thing ?" CB : "Nope, you can only shoot the pilot not the big offline TAG standing right in front of you (that cannot even shoot you in answer)"
What if the tag is turned around so you don't see the cockpit open? as far as you can tell it's just standing there
I mean, it's about as (counter-)intuitive as a trooper next to the TAG activating and you can't shoot the TAG...
Surprisingly, TAG front arc is often in my troop direction. Something related to shooting me in the face
Well I, personally, find it equally dumb that people walk on walls while climbing instead of using the proper techniquie (where you are flat against the wall, you know). Or that a professional skydiver with computerized targeting assist is only able to hit his landing target four outta five times, tops (and three outta five without assist). But that's just the game's conventions I have to accept to have fun playing. P.S. By the way, Maggy has a second cockpit hatch at the bottom of the hull for covert dismounting =)
Probably not... Since all riders are taller than S4 (IIRC) the motorcycle wouldn't block LoF. Then again, if it's possible to dismount prone, then I guess it's possible, but I'm not sure about that one.
You could dismount into full cover even if you can't dismount prone. But that does require the bike to finish his previous move in a certain position.
Does it? It says it can be replaced with a "motorcycle marker" or a "piece of scenery of similar diameter".
The scenery piece is representing a marker, and even if it weren't any motorcycle sized piece of scenery wouldn't provide total cover for an S2 trooper anyway, but that's a separate discussion that was had here: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/yet-another-thread-about-motorcycles.22821/#post-91034
