Was one extra order what was keeping you from taking the Gorgos? I don’t think so but I figure I’ll try him out anyway since he got a microbuff. Curious why kind of gorgos lists people have had success with.

He still dies to one Heavy Flamethrower. As long as that weakness exists, I will not be fielding a Gorgos.

Maybe in a fun game. But as above, he not only has a glaring weakness, he's got a glaring weakness that pretty much everyone can take advantage of. Don't wanna drop nearly 1/3rd of my points on a model thats just gonna die when it gets hot... Which is a bummer, cuz I do love the model

Well, maybe I'm the only one, but I may try it more now thanks to the new rule.
The only problem is that I never bought one when I had the chance >_<

Honestly maybe. The Gorgos weakness is pretty awful but also pretty easy to ignore. That order is pretty sweet.

You guys say that like Symbiomates with Total Immunity don't exist.

Also, before you start saying things about infiltrating Grunts or something - you have 10 heavy flamethrowers, deploy them as a screen!

You understand that symbiomates can no longer be saved for when you need it to block a flamethrower hit now, right?

(That said I personally am not hugely concerned by the risk of fire to a Gorgos, although it is a risk, but if someone does rate that risk highly then a symbiomate is of very limited utility)

As someone that has used the Gorgos ALOT. The Gorgos has always been a reasonably effective unit. At its pinnacle a Mated/Bombed Gorgos was among the most durable TAGs in the game. With the changes to Mates the Gorgos no longer really has the chance to boast about that.

While the extra order the Gorgos now gets is certainly a boon but the changes to Symbiomates and the earlier removal of the second Flammenspear have really reduced general utility of the TAG. In addition past changes that were aimed at benefiting TAGs haven't done much to help the big girl. The Gorgos' AP Spitfire already does similar things to Fatality 1, and the Pilot doesn't get the freedom of other TAGs to jump in and out to hit buttons. The Gorgos continues to have potential but without some backup flame protection will be heavily meta dependent.

Remember the Gorgos is packing a fair bit of heat in the form of the AP Spitfire and should be looking to try and get into the midfield and apply pressure to big HI, TAGs and the like. Your Chaksa will be key in helping to ward off close range attackers with flamethrowers so get used to keeping the little guy safe.

    Key Supporting units to consider:

    Kaeltar
    • The Bombs are 100% amazing on the Gorgos
    • The Mates are still useable but you'll have to consider how much you value them.
    Keesan
    • Provides KHD that can help clear midfield hackers from your Gorgos
    • Can triad with a Kumotail and drag the Engineer/Doctor into the midfield to help the Gorgos in case of glue/hacking.
    • Doesn't like being in a link that much
    • Is expensive
    Kumotail
    • Its your doctor and engineer in one nice package.
    • The Gorgos doesnt benefit from Repair/doctoring much
    • The Gorgos can flop out of its armour in a pinch already.
    • The Kumotail has great G: Servants but they dont play nice with links.
    Kamael WHD
    • Has excorcism
    • Is inexpensive
    • Fits as a link specialist nicely

Do you have an example list? I'm having trouble putting one together that covers all the bases.

It's been a number of years since I've touched the Gorgos/Tohaa heavily so I wouldn't recommend looking at any of my old lists. But I'd be happy to fuss up a little something for you now.

This is roughly what I'd be looking at today. It should give you everything you need for basic ITS 11 Missions, and has some nice flexibility and range.
