Hi all, I think creating a new thread about this specific topic can be interesting. I am starting it 'reposting' my previous comment in the Collecting Alternate Dropship/VTOL/Tank Scenery thread, but very soon (or so I hope) I will be sharing more ideas using toy trucks and loaders. I got a Quinjet (probably the first version mentioned by Chromedog), 18 EUR. A couple of pics showing the scale. It will make a nice dropship. And here you have a blog commenting the toy with more pics. My own impression: it will make a great dropship for Infinity. The cockpit looks scaled for two seats, the ship could transport about a dozen HI minis without problems and it even has a ramp in the rear to the cargo hold. Some parts of the toy are nicely detailed (wings, fuselage), while others (landing gear, the ramp) would need much more detail. Also, there are a lot of screws visible in the structure, so the holes should be filled and sanded. A gun/optics turret in the front could be a nice addition, but that is a desire, not a need. As it is, the toy can be almost directly used as centerpiece in a table.
There is also this version of the Quinjet available. I picked one up off ebay quite cheaply. It sits on the ground so it blocks line of sight partially. The rear access is also decently scaled for Infinity models. Would be good for any Get to the Choppa type scenarios.
Yeah, that's the other one I mentioned. The Winter Soldier variant. They changed the designs slightly between movies (and there's another, earlier version in Captain Marvel - but no toy that I'm aware of). On this one, one of the rear stabilisers (tail fins) triggers the ramp release and the spring loaded motorcycle release.
There is a Hot Wheels Quinjet with the same design; it has a button to open the nose and a handle in the rear with a spring to eject a vehicle (car, bike). Looks like the handle could be removed without problems, but I do not think it can be used for scenery. No rear ramp, among other things...
Hi all, As promised some weeks ago, some pics of cheap toy trucks suitable for Infinity. They were cheaper than, let's say, Manatee haulers, but no cheap cheap, about 5 EUR/each. Still, not bad. Some pics: As you can see, they come in a number of colours. Six wheeled, nicely moulded. A couple of screws maintain the pieces together. The truck compared with a MicroArt van (unpainted, sorry...). More or less the same size, which puts the truck into the category of those small ones used for city deliveries and so. I suppose a 'box' or similar could be fitted in the rear part to make a frozen goods delivery truck (beer!). In my case I want to make a couple of flatbed minitrucks, so... I made a couple of platforms using LEGO pieces (yes, they are glued, muahahaha). Alguacil using the truck for cover... One of the obvious things in this pic is the lack of a proper access door. I toyed with the idea of expanding the existing door to the right, scribing a couple of lines to make it look bigger. But those lines are not exactly aligned, and there is the potential for a messy result. And finally, the results. If you take a closer look at the pic you will see that I have added some handles using staples. I could easily add more details, but I think it is enough for my purposes. Let's see how they look once painted... Comments, criticisms and jokes are welcomed.
i call him the offender ;) its a Dickie Toys Joy Rider .. about 5 Euro the commercial :D and i build a Warcor Chopper.. the Base is a Police Chopper of Dickie Toys
This is one of my autonomous robotic removal drones that keep the streets of New Hokk clean and tidy. It's originally a hotwheels/matchbox scaled snow plough. It's tall enough to grant cover to S2 models.
Yes, cool idea indeed... already thinking about old diecast cars that my kids have somewhere for repurposing. I would love to see some pics with minis, to check the scale
Here is a scale pic of the Chopper :) And here are 2 Batmobiles they fit and got a good price.. Iam thinking about to buy 1 or 2 tumbler more to Paint em in a cyberpunk neon style
Welp, that looks perfect! I need to see what's available locally, i need more storage space, i'm already over the limit...
Thats a really old truck of my child years , about 28 years old found it and recycel it for my terrain ^^ I Think its a truck from Brico
All the vehicles look nicely scaled... Do some other members of the forum purchase cheap toys and discard them when they discover the scale is not correct, or is just me?
