Starting playing spiral this month (5 or 6 games in) and naturally Im reading a lot of unfamiliar rules. Among other things that phero-booster seems really good at HVT designation, burst 3, with a +3 band! non lethal, fantastic: shot it at an hvt to score hvt designation, pretty sure this is legal? Next query: Tri-core, the wiki states you need to mark tri-core on the fireteam leader. Has anyone made an official (or indeed good looking) tri-core marker, Ive been unable to find anything. Tri-core being automatic and obligatory skill should mean you always have to declare it to your opponent. Does this mean you leave your tri-core taagma outside holo 1 state? (Ive been it playing this way in the absence of a marker)
There's no tri-core marker afaik. Your Taagma can use tri-core while in Holo1. If your Taagma is in Holo1, the fact that the Tri-Core skill is active is public information, but the model possessing the skill is not.
Pheromonic Special Ammunition N3 Wiki > Main Sections > Weaponry and Equipment > Weaponry > Pheromonic Special Ammunition Human Sphere N3 Content. This a type of lethal ammunition based on modified pheromones that not only cause damage to the target but also marks them. Category Exotic. Roll After a successful attack using Pheromonic Special Ammunition, the target must make a BTS Roll. Effects Each BTS Roll failed against Pheromonic Special Ammunition causes the target to lose one point from his Wounds/STR Attribute. Moreover, the target enters directly into the Targeted state, whether he succeed at the BTS Roll or not, placing a Targeted Marker on his side. The effective use of this ammunition is considered a successful Forward Observer Attack in regards to accomplishing Objectives in missions or scenarios. Critical hits with Pheromonic Special Ammunition cause the target to lose 1 point directly from his Wounds/STR Attribute, bypassing the usual BTS Roll. Moreover, the target directly enters into the Targeted state. i'm not completly agree with @meikyoushisui , seems legit to me, because on Telemetry is the same requirements as Designation and counts as accomplishing, maybe @ijw can help to confirm that TELEMETRY REQUIREMENTS: Forward Observer or Spotlight Hacking Program. Objective: To succeed at an Attack against an enemy trooper using Forward Observer or the Spotlight Hacking Program HVT: DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS: Forward Observer or Spotlight Hacking Program. Objective: The player must succeed at two Forward Observer Rolls or two Spotlight Hacking Program Rolls against the enemy HVT model. The player is authorized to perform this type of Attack against the HVT model.
Technically, PheroBooster can shoot in Stun mode, which is not lethal. The only problem is - PheroBooster in Stun mode shoots Stun ammo, not Pheromonic, and Stun ammo does not put a Targeted state on those it hits. Edit: Yes, in Army the BS Weapon list shows Pheromonic ammo for Stun mode of Phero-Booster. However, wiki says it shoots Stun ammo. I would rather trust wiki on this =) Also, ask yourself - how can a weapon be non-lethal, when shooting ammo that causes wounds? =)
Nope, you're right and I'm wrong. I'm not even sure how I missed that, I double-checked the rule because I wasn't sure. I've removed the erroneous information for my comment.
Last bullet point of Tri-Core's effects: Players must mark the use of this Special Skill by placing a Tri-Core Marker besides the Team Leader Marker. So it will reveal that one member of the team is a Taagma, but won't reveal which one as they don't have to be the leader.
This is the relevant bit for sure, a marker was introduced to the rules, but so far as Im aware the graphical work hasnt been done? Glad you picked that one up I didnt check both army and wiki on the phero-booster profile in game, just army (I usually just assume its correct). If the non-lethal version fires stun then that leaves us with only the lethal version causing the targetted effect which would not be valid for use against an HVT for designation (afaik). *this was in countermeasures.
I didnt saw any, unfortunately, even spiral box misses it (which is a bit annoying). But I never had issues in playing just pointing that this particular triad have tri-core and my opponents always were fine with that
I just use the fireteam CORE on the tricore team so my opponent's know they're benefiting from being a 5-man "full" core
