Not a fan of writing reports, but i got some requests to write something about my games in LYON merovingian SATELLITE. I really enjoyed games in France, community there is great and really happy to be able to participate second time in event in this country.

I think Spiral Corps is one of the best armies to play in LI format (with average "grab and run" or "kill and hold" missions). So far i played only Nomads during my Infinity, but after carefully checking all pros and cons i decided that i don't want to play them in LI.

For this event organizers have chosen five missions:
    -acquisition
    -firefight
    -frontline
    -supremacy
    -supplies

All, except supplies and may be firefight benefit going second, but LI format also forces you to survive enemy heavy hitters killing most of models you leave in aro or just hide.

That is why i got Spiral for this event. They have really nasty ARO options as well as one of the best specialists and fast heavy hitters with everything really really hard to kill and really really order effective (what is really important for this format)

    Open in Infinity Army

Second roster was same, but - draal + clipsosfo(for frontline)

The main idea is to have 4 separate groups of units performing in different parts of the table with possibility to even help and cover each other.

Not always i was putting them in same triads, but the idea was to have

    Triad A: Sniper(main-aro)/Tricore/Kaeltar(spec)
    Triad B: Backup sniper/DraalRifle(spec, backup-aro)/Kriigel (problem solver)
    Triad C: Kiel-saan(backup -aro, deployment attack) /Draal(spec)/Draal(spec)
Almost Triad D: Kerail with 2 Surdas (deployment attack, order waste aro)

Everything is very order efficient, every order you take moves more them one model on table. You are protected from bad rolls since most of stuff have more then 1 wound and needs some special approach from enemy to be killed. And even if you take would you can save order by failing guts.

Order efficiency is really great here - you can move specialists to make mission to score as well as move kiel-saan. MCV2 + smoke solves most of non-link aro. Draal with AP-Marksman and Stratuscloud with white-noise solves most of link aro problems. Also roster allows to get to almost any hidden models with kerail's surdas or kiel-saan.

Acquisition: Invincible Army on open table where i won a roll, took deployment and to deploy second. Opponent took first turn and made mistake on deployment by putting some models not protected from some angles. I killed some of his links models in his active turn by shooting non-leader link models without loosing my models cause of active Stratusclouds and Symbiomates. That allowed me to keep decent amount of orders to ensure i win.

Firefight: Varuna. I made mistake of going first vs Varuna. I lost 5 models first turn with some help of clever opponent deployment and horrific rolls (or great rolls from opponent) I could play better, but 7 crits is a bit too much for this format.

Frontline: Tunguska opponent took second turn, which is imho a bit risky. I killed lots of his active models during my first turn and crippled his order pull so he could not do anything.

Supremacy: Shasvastii opponent from Team Latvia. My usual Infinity-sparing partner and friend. We knew each-other rosters to last model so game was a bit more on dices. He got first turn, but only managed to kill two orders. In my active turn i killed both of his active models (SPHINX and spitfire CALIBAN) so situation on table after my turn was unrecoverable.

Supplies: Pano with lots of TO (swissguard-ml, 2 crocmans), joan and two total-reactions. No link = Smoke + MCV2 kills everything. Killed remotes, grabbed 2 supplies what forced him to actually open his TO swissguard, who was killed on my last order after. I think he lost too much orders on my turn to actually do something vs my aro. Super-climb Kiel-saan finished the game. Only Joan Survived.

    Final thoughts:
Roster almost perfect for this missions if you understand how to control amount of orders you can loose during aro turn. Only thing i would change is Lt from Taahma to Kriegel, but that is minor.
LI is pain to play. Looking forward to some "normal" games.

Dazers: No, no dazers - was never in situation i needed one. Both dazer draals was always not far away from Kiel-saan, so deploying dazers felt a bit wrong.
Neema vs Kiel-saan: Neema with spitfire is ok, but i i wanted two mcv2 snipers and tricore - so no SWC for her. And breaker rifle version weaker/slower/less range which makes her way less order efficient. . Also Kiel is beast in melee, have Meta chemistry which makes him most of the time way better then his profile looks like , higher base armor and speed. And only 7 pts more. Advance command is also waste for LI.

And for model , i deployed one of snipers as Neema holo1 state, so i used the model this really gorgeous model. That was done to discourage opponents for going for my lieutenant (since neema looks like she is hard nut to crack) and usually opponents knew that Spirals have at least one MCV2 sniper, but sometimes forget that they can have two, cause for LI Neema looks like logical model to take.

Wow that was a really good explanation for why you took one unit over another...
