    Hi all,

So it seems pretty confirmed now that Spiral Corps are an NA2 sectorial as Triumverate had been rumoured. My question is, if they are NA2 affiliated rather than Tohaa, will the constitute an "Alien Army" for the purposes of Impersonation?

Thematically, I get it. Having human mercs in their forces leaves them open to human Impersonation - but it feels like rules-wise this is a really poorly defined term.

Agreed. Hopefully we can get some clarification on this. @Koni @HellLois ?

Is it possible each force/Sectorial could have a keyword with what species (possibly multiples) it's associated with, and Impersonation (and possible other effects as well) would only work if you shared a species keyword with your opponent?

Like Spiral Corps might have "Tohaa" and "Human," but Tohaa would just have "Tohaa."

We have quite the conundrum here. Either Inferior Impersonation does include Alien factions, which would make it better (in some ways) than Basic Impersonation, but that would be rather unintuitive.

The alternative is that Spiral Corps is treated as a human faction with the usual restrictions on alien factions, but that would mean that a Tohaa Impersonator can't impersonate another (vanilla) Tohaa, which again doesn't make sense, except if ...

    ... Vanilla Tohaa get frenched.

There you go, CB's true motives unveiled.

Or it might be addressed in the book and rules that are not even out yet?

You can already IMP-2 vs Alien Factions with Basic Impersonation.

So if we assume the Inferior Impersonation only ever allows IMP-2 against all factions then this query is irrelevant.

I’m pretty sure it’ll be based on the top-level faction designation. So NA2 is a “human” faction, and regular impersonation will have full effectiveness against them.

Can this be moved to the solved question subforum ?

The question is bound to come back and it would be a good idea to "save" the answer
