What are the shield, success, special tokens that come with soldier of fortune for?? am i missing something super obvious?
Some players may choose to use these tokens to keep track of the outcome of an especially complicated face to face dice roll. Remember that switches go first and determining the player who must declare his switched first is the privilege of the Active player. This is the only exception to the general rule that the Underdog determines priority. For instance Mushashi is attacking another Mushashi. It makes a huge difference who gets to commit to using the switch so that may convert to against an adjacent target. These tokens can make it very clear how you commit to switches or not as the case may be.
They're worth a few different reasons like @Roadrunner7431 said. I've used them to: Record pre-set symbols on dice, such as Major Lunah's automatic , or Maximus' defensive for example. If you only have the one dice set, you can record your roll so both players can use the same dice.
