I like the look of some of the shields but they make no sense and are just for looks. But I propose they actually do get a purpose. Here's my idea. Shield Adds +1 cover save from any opponent targeting them in their front arc. Note this is a cover save that can be neutralized by the skill Marksmanship and any other rule that negates cover (templates). Any targeting of the trooper from the back arc will not count the cover save from the shield but may use any normal cover if it is in cover. A simpler way of doing it would be: +1 ARM from any ballistic attacks against the trooper in their front arc. For example: A Hellblazer is ARM 4 from attacks in their front arc but ARM3 from any behind them. Thoughts?
Moved to rules suggestions. the original nanoscreen rules had a similar function creating an arc were the cover was provided.
Thanks! Yes I remember that. But it was a bit cumbersome because it moved. This would stay to the figures front arc.
