Hi guys. I just want to check I'm using link teams as effectively as possible as I'm pretty new and I have chosen onyx contact force as my army so far. Would love some feedback on any of these questions and thank you in advance for any responses!

    1) Link team members can do whole orders (like speculative fire/supportware), the rest idle but still generate AROs so this is risky if out in the open.

    2) Link teams of 4+ gain sixth sense level 1 and 2.

    3) Sixth sense level one

Can delay ARO if in enemy activates in ZOC:

If attacked resolve FTF regardless of LOF i.e. could dodge or BS attack

If not attacked can change face at -3

    4) Sixth sense level 2

If attacked can perform a FTF roll regardless of lof and zoc if attacked

Can shoot through Zero Vis without penalty if attacked regardless of the direction they are facing.

Example question: 5-member link team in the reactive turn. Enemy trooper activates outside their zone of control. 3 members can draw lof and aro the first short skill move (they have to make their aro at this point). The enemy trooper then BS attacks member 4 who can’t draw line of fire because he’s facing the wrong way. He can now have an ARO because he has been targeted and has sixth sense level 2 but his ARO has to be the same as the first three otherwise he breaks the link?

    Not to do with links:

    5) In general, you can ARO BS attack at -6 through zero visibility zones if you are facing the enemy trooper and they attack you or can dodge on normal phys.

If you are not facing the target (unless they have sixth sense level 2) they do not get an ARO even if attacked.

    Yes

They gain SS2. Then the rules specify that having any skill with numerical values includes the previous levels, so yeah, at all effects both SS1 & SS2

    Yeah.

Yes. But only the target (so don't spread the Burst!) and only that one rotates.

    Correct.
Please do note that, in a 4man link team, if he choses to not fire he would get out of the Fireteam... and lose ARO rights (since Fireteam bonuses are recalculated instantly in this case, and the Fireteam is a 3man one now, with that guy being in the open, alone). This is relevant because of Mirmydons.

Yes. Remember that Surprise Shot and Camo stack here... so an Intruder can impose a -12 to your ARO fire or -3 to your ARO Dodge

Correct (remember, 360º visors do not need to face. Same with markers, since both see all around).

Correct, as long as the attack is not done with a template weapon. If attacked with shotgun impact template or with a chain rifle or speculatively fired grenade; they get to make a -3 dodge (generally speaking).

Thanks for that :) Looks like my thinking was right pretty much then, I was definitely not using them as effectively as I could up until now.

All of the other replies are correct, but one final thing to note is that they'll get an ARO if they're within ZoC, but that's limited to Change Facing, (regardless of weapon type).
