just looking at the completed model on my desk. im just wondering, like the TR HMG remotes losing the mines and grenade launchers after N1, did the rui shi have a different load out?
Nope. It's always had two spitfires modeled on it but has only one listed on its profile. No different than the bulleteer which has dual weapons modeled but is not present in the profile as well. Was probably for aesthetic purposes to keep the bots symmetrical in look.
Sforza also has a brace of pistols modeled yet only a single one in his profile (which was upgraded to heavy at some point). IIRC the twin weapons rule only existed for templates and light shotguns until the release of Campaign Paradiso in late N2. So having two Spitfires didn't have any game effect before then.
While it was only used on dual shotguns for the longest time, it was written in a generic way. The DTW rule was actually separate from the one for normal BS weapons, but had a broadly similar effect.
Do what I did and use the old Su Jian mobility form as a Rui Shi, it’s much better looking and have that mean looking single gun. :)
I've done some conversion work on all my REMs. I've kept the goofy double-gun look, though. Below is half-way through painting.
The TR HMG remotes only lost mines in N3. They had them in N2 (at least PanO's Sierra TRbot did.). N2 was when I started with the game. I still have the books AND the pdfs of the rules and lists.
that's neat to know, i missed out on the entire N2 as i moved to a place where no one did any wargames during that time. i only came back last year as i moved back and saw people were playing N3 at the store
