Played Decapitation against Tunguska, lost 3-0.
I specifically wanted to take some units I hadn't tried before, so along with some support units I took:
    - Tarik (spitfire)
    - a Zhayedan link with two snipers, Leila (Lt. and MSV2), Yara (to keep cost down, and cover shorter ranges) and Rouhani (cost and doctor)
    - Carmen & Batard

Unfortunately I deployed Carmen badly and she died on her first order to a Hollow Man across the board (this guy was going to be my bane). Never had a chance. Opponent noted I maybe should have deployed her on the other side of the my DZ where her move wouldn't have taken her out in the open so fast.

Tarik suffered a similar bad luck fate. His deployment wasn't bad, but he had to cross no-man's land, completely flubbed a dodge and then a spitfire shot and between the two, took three wounds from that same Hollow Man. If he'd made it across he could have taken out an HVT and then charged into the back of a Securitate squad and wrecked shop (maybe even getting to his Interventer Lt., though I don't know if I had the orders for that). #Regerts

But the Zhayedans were AWESOME! Basically having two snipers on separate roofs covering the entire width of the board with +1B and +3BS really threw my opponent off and it took all his orders over multiple turns with a team of a Kriza, Perseus and the Hated Hollow Man to dislodge them. I had wanted to try two hortlak snipers after other discussions on the forums, but in the end didn't have the points. One interesting thing that we realized is that while MSV comes in handy for some shots, almost EVERY shot I took was against something in cover, so Marksmanship came up almost 100% of the time. I'll definitely be using this team again.

My SMG Hakim (who I've officially nicknamed "Grotnib") also made another good showing, bringing back an unconscious HVT (saving me 2pts.) and Yara.

All in all a very fun game. I still find it incredible that I can lose almost every model and still only lose by a few points (and a couple bad rolls) and it really shows how interesting/challenging the ITS mission system can be vs. just killing for points (even when the mission is basically killing things for points :) )

Hmm, cool write up. Makes me really curious about whos more lethal and whos harder to deal with between the zhayedans and hortlaks.

I've been willing to die on the Zhayedan hill on these forums before! :D I too love my Zhaeydan Sniper; getting to roll for 15s most of the time is great! Most of the world seems to believe thse guys are obsolete compared the Hortlak Snipers, but at 8pts cheaper I feel they're a great option!

I had a game of Countermeasures the other night (against Svalarheima) where I won three face to face roll the entire game - two of the times my opponent pasted all his saves, and the last one was a Reset against a Spotlight... I didn't cause a single wound to my opponent's force, yet I managed to compelete 3 Classifieds to his 5; a result made even more puzzling by the fact that I missed an objective I could have done (I misremembered that you can't go into Civevac when stunned, turns out you can), and had two chances at unopposed 11s to get another at the last turn that I failed... I'm not saying I could have won, but as you said, best just buckle up and see the operation through - especially now that the tournament system awards close loses and 5 OPs gained!

I feel ya here. Ive been repping zhayedans since just after N3 dropped. One of my best games was a zhayedan breaker rifle in suppressive just mangling scareface and cordelia. The opponent under estimated the zhayedan and also risked his tag to blast my specialist off the objective.

Oh boy did I love the Breaker Rifle Zhayedan in N3! He was my favorite aggressive LT, and while it was quite finicky to get him to position, holy moly did he bag quite a number of impressive kills for me! By the end of N3 his dining room wall was filled with HI and TAG trophies...

The interaction between Marksmanship and Breaker ammo is one of the few things I miss from the previous edition...
