So I had my first game with a haris of riotgirls and avicenna. Worked great, until Avicenna died, my riot grrls killed things, and went impetuous.

How do you guys use them? I'm not used to non domaru HI that go frenzy, haha.

First, note that the link is not broken if Avicenna dies.
As long as the actual leader of the link team is alive and the link is formed of at least 2 people, it is still active. Ok, it doesn't give you +1 to Burst, but they will not go frenzy.

Sometimes i play riot spitfire or normal in generic nomads, and they go just fine by themselves. (not the main hitters normally). But on sectorials i almost never got a riot entering Frenzy. Quiet grrls if you ask me.

Lastly, except for Missile Launcher (That grrls is glory) most Grrls have medium or short kind of weapons, so mine tend to be on the middle of everything. I wouldn't worry much if they go frenzy, just let the leash go, and remember: Hiperdinamics lets you dodge at 16's!

Well, at the time, avicenna had activated as the link team leader because I needed a WIP 15 button push. Didn't see the ARO, haha.

Do note that any kills they made while in the link team does not make them go impetuous. When the link broke they return to whatever state they were in when they joined the Fire team.
And secondly Frenzy dont actually kick in until your next active phase after you kill someone.
Now if they do go Impetuous, it usually isn't big deal, getting a free move is often beneficent for them.

But if you really want to keep that fireteam try to include an EVO Hacker. With TeamPro there won't be any danger to lose that link even if Avicenna as the LL dies.

Losing Fireteam Bonuses in ARO can lead to the whole team getting domino'd, TeamPro can be a big help. If you can spare the CG slot for an EVO.

    This.

Topic already exists in the Nomads section.

Regarding Avi, she is squishy and lacks a med-longe range ARO which means she'll usually be hiding. She's less than ideal for a defensive link centered on a ML. She's much better in a link that moves up.

Honestly, I'd ALMOST suggest moving all the StarCo discussions to the Nomads section with a link in the NA2 Section going 'the Nomads players have decided StarCo is basically their 3rd faction, discussion has been subsumed into their forum'.

There are more Nomad troops in StarCo than there are Ariadnan troops in MRRF, just saying ;)

I've found her WIP 15 burst two flash pulse to be an awesome ARO inside of 24" and a decent one out to 48". I'm not afraid to hang her out on a shorter firelane, especially with the NWI to heal herself back if she loses.

Still torn about Avi in the link. Her 6" Cautious Move, WIP, and NWI/Doctor shenanigans made her a great objective grabber. However, I can also see the advantage in being able to Doctor your Grrls on an 18 with a CT re-roll if needed.

There's a huge difference between how Riots work in Bakunin and how they work in Starco, actually. For starters, no full HI 5 women pain train (Mobile brigada my ass, Riots are the real HI murder team). Sure, Avicenna and Emily can help you form a 5 women team, but they're also the weak link a smart oponent will exploit, and you still have to pay for that stupid haris riot if you want a haris of them, so while there is some overlap, I don't think it is the same thing.

I really think teampro is a must in StarCo as with all the funky fireteam rules you risk a lot if your Avicena or Emily dies too early or too stupid to help you accomplish anything.

As for impetuous: There's a whole lot you can do with it, really. The big deal is to remember you'll turn impetuous next turn and plan accordingly: try to finish the turn with you riots in total cover so they don't expose themselves right away, or position them so that if they do expose, you'll at least use that impetuous order to turn an enemy model into pureed meat with their spitfire/shotgun/multi-rifle. All in all, just plan for your moves and you'll find Impetuous working for you instead of against you.

People use TeamPro? Never seen it used in a game since HSN3 came out, in a tournament or otherwise. Certainly not worth 25pts 0.5swc.

Spend the 0.5swc on the haris grrl for your combi/blitzen and bring Emily AND Avicenna in your list if you're worried about it. I think either holds up as a solo specialist and you can run a resilient core with a haris backup.

having Avicenna available as backup is all well and good but as far as I know you cant manually elect to disconnect G:Servant remotes and it's hard to imagine a situation where i'd bring a doctor as good as Avicenna without a 3pt helper bot.

I will admit that it seems like a lost opportunity not to bring a servant bot with her. The 6-2 helps but it's nice to throw up a Zondbot behind an ARO piece for additional resiliency. I vaguely remember a thread on the old forums about whether a doc/eng with a g:servant is still considered to have that skill after the servant is destroyed, but I don't remember the official ruling.

Honestly, if you're running two 2 swc models in a single link you're probably already strapped for SWC as it is, spending another 0,5 SWC on a haris model seems like a waste, doubly so when you can spend those same 0,5 on a specialist that will give you plenty of other uses, even considering guys like Spector on this army.
