Hi all, I'm a returning player, played mostly N3, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what all the new profiles are about. My local meta has manly Ariadna and Haqq players, with paratroops and camos everywhere, and we play ITS standard missions. My main problem is that many of my models from Varuna and Acontecimento have been retired - Bagh Mari and Kamau for visor + mimetism and fireteams, Akalis for some suprises, etc. So what in N5 is similar and woould work? From the current profiles, I have Joan, a Nisse, couple of orcs, a Croc Man, a Zulu Cobra, a Peacemaker and a Father Knight that I guess I can easily use as some other knight, and some fusiliers. The rest will be proxies, but would like to stay as close as possible - for instance, don't want to run a Kamau as a knight, or a Montesa as some kind of LI. Thanks!
I would dare to say that Kestrel is the de-facto proxy list for Acontecimiento indeed, but Varuna is vanilla Pano. Helot Militia? Patsy? Cutter? Croc-mans? Zulu-Cobras? You're only missing Kamau and Echo-bravo and you can use them using Nisses and Banshees rules. Ok ok, no more Mounted Montesas... but you can use them as Motorized Bounty Hunters which you didn't have access in Varuna before. I would even dare to say that Vanilla-runa n5 is even better than regular old n4 Varuna. But that's a personal perception.
For the Acon experience, play Kestrel Colonial Force. For the Varuna experience, play Vanilla. I played mostly Varuna in N4, and find that I'm enjoying N5's Vanilla way more than Varuna. Note that Vanilla actually has Fireteams, now! And if you have Helots, there's a version that can link and has Sensor, making them especially useful for your meta. For proxies, Akali can proxy as Banshees, Bagh Mari and Kamau can proxy as Bolts/Drummers/Black A.I.R., Father Knights are now Crux Team Father Knights (and are awesome), and Acon Regulars can be Fennec Fusiliers (and many of the Acon Regulars' loadouts are in the Fennec Fusilier profiles).
