So, we have news on MAF for N4 now and, in one word: YES. Look at these: https://imgur.com/a/Wo3eFPO Look at these fireteam options. Not very different than what we already had, but with some really neat additions: Anyat can pal with sogs and/or Raichos and Kornak finally gets Wildcard. Plus, we also get a new and neat AD trooper specialist. I dig it a whole lot. Morat players unite, this is shaping to be a good update.
based on what I see, Taryot to me doesn't look interesting(might change my mind when we'll be able to see entire army and prices, but I'm pessimistic), while leaked stuff excited me much more (although it was stated that it's possibly not up to date or wrong). either way, I'm really looking forward to list building and trying things out. And also I'm almost done repainting MAF, still got a week to go!
I'm a major cynic when it comes to the beloved red monkeys, and I have to say that the Taryot's generic, redundant and bland design seems to fit the Morat design philosophy quite well. Really hoping we see better, but in this case this is precisely the type of Morat revamp I was expecting sadly... Kornak wildcard is kind of cool though.
I dig the Taryot, at least the specialist profile. 24 points for a Wip 13 specialist that will reliably drop on a 15 on every mission I bring him? Plus, he's a specialist with a decent gun, instead of the usual combi-rifle bullcrap. Yeah, I like him. Fuck, I'd use him in vanilla combined, probably paired with the ubiquituous Cadmus Seed I used a lot last year. Also, I really think you guys underestimate how good that Raicho+anyat/raktorak duo could be. Raichos towing their own smoke/hacker protection around? Oh yeah. Oh, and a minor change in the ruling for the Oznat+Hungries link will make it a lot more intuitive.
Current state says you cannot reform the link once it breaks. I am hoping the writing on the video means that rule is gone. Could be wrong, though.
I love the idea of Taryot being piloted by Vanguard who are injured and having to work from home because the Morat Supremacy doesn't believe in sick leave.
Am I the only one super hyped by the FireTeam with Anyat and Raicho or Sogarat ? I'm already having fun in my head. Also hyped by the new profile. I'm a big fan of the Rasyat, but, for me, having a new Combat Jump Unit feels really cool.
Nah, mate. You and me both. I'm digging the prospect of a competent toolbox paired with a badass frontline unit. And I really dig that 24 points paramedic taizot. The other two profiles I'm unsure if I'll ever touch, but I'm getting some milleage out of that taizot for sure.
I'm not alone ! As I'm a big big addict of the Double Raicho lists, i'm already thinking about one with Anyat and the other with Raktorak. But, I'm scratching my head about the "Taizot". What in the galaxy is this ? Cant remember seeing or hearing of it. Could you tell me more about this ?
Oh. Haha, ok. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the profiles. But playing two combat jumpers, with one being a paramedic seems nice. I like the surprise units... Once was (and still am) a fan of the Caskuda. RIP my sweet big bug. Forgot to say my hype for the starting supp fire. My Zerat sure likes this. Did I say hyped to often ? Because, I'm hyped. I'm easily hyped. But... Wow i'm hyped.
Well on more on the lore side of things I'm surprised the new Taryot wasn't called the Gatukat Combat Drone as talked about in the Combined Army Sourcebook from the RPG (page 96): But that's just me getting nit picky over nothing... or maybe I think it's a better name :P
Except they have cubes and grow a new body to put a cube in just like a sleeve, why even bother with a REM, it's so effective it might as well be as expensive as a body or are these gusy trying to save up for a new body, I feel like Morats don't necessarily believe in capitalism...
Why does a Vanguard get a new body? That's reserved for those that earned a new body like Suryats and Sogarats. Not some grunt. Those guys can be regulated to piloting remote presence drones. Still be useful instead of being dead weight. There's cultural implications then just simply the CA can poop out a new body for them to use.
