Theoretical question (Retreat is rare, and rarer still if all you play is ITS); how does Airborne and Hidden Deployment work during Retreat? Hidden Deployment does not have a Retreat cancellation clause, contrary to TO Camouflage, and keeps working when the user enters Retreat? Airborne Deployment is tougher; does it count as evacuated? Does it count as in Retreat (and thus can't deploy)?
Being off-table doesn't stop the trooper from being in Retreat state. So a Hidden Deployment trooper could use their (Irregular) Order but be limited to the usual Skills if you activate them, and if you activate them they'd have Mimetism rather than TO Camouflage. Religious Troops would ignore all of this, as usual. An AD trooper still off-table wouldn't be able to deploy, as you said. Unless they have Religious, Courage etc. that allow them to ignore Retreat state. Note that ITS missions with the Killing rule will count them all as kills if they're not placed on the table.
