Generating Courtesy Lists seems to constantly break and/or contradict itself. If there was an easy reference for all skills/equipment that is to be considered private information it would speed up re-checking courtesy lists tremendously.
That's a good starting point. However, there are elements that this list omits on the one hand and on the other, it's not an easily searchable list. F.e. Hacking Devices. The Hacker SKILL seems to be open information while the Hacking Device EQUIPMENT does not. However, some units print with their device noted on the courtesy list, some don't. It's just something that creates frustration and could be easily dealt with in a centralized way.
specifically which items are not open information that courtesy lists are showing? there is an army bug thread to report them. Do note however, that as stated above that hacking devices are not private. most of the skills and equipment in this game are public information (once you actually get to see what the model is). Outside the LT skills, counter intelligence, and the various ways a model can be hidden by states or off table (camo/combat jump etc), I can't think off any off the top of my head that is private.
There are a few hackers without hacking devices, that might be what's causing some of the confusion. Hacking devices are basically containers for a preset amount of programs, but it's possible to be a hacker with a more limited selection of programs (see: Bit and Kiss) Army also has a long-standing set of bugs regarding Holomask and Holoprojector combination that I don't think is fixed. If using these units where it is important to get order counts and specific units correct I suggest you make a fake army list and print off that list's courtesy list instead.
