We are starting a 12 person league that included Smoke and Mirrors. Here is how often each character showed up in the line ups: Totals: Gata: 6/12 Maximus: 8/12 Lunah: 9/12 Musashi: 9/12 Bill: 8/12 8 Ball: 3/12 Parvati: 4/12 Hexxer: 7/12 Hannibal: 6/12 Valkyrie: 9/12 Massacre: 6/12 Laxmee: 5/12 Kozmo: 4/12 Mendoza: 5/12 TaoWu : 3/12 Murtair: 3/12
Very Interesting. The main surprise for me is how few players took 8Ball. We had an informal TTS league organized by Azrael. 8Ball was on every winning team save one. It seems your players are taking characters that excel in dealing damage rather than taking characters that specialize in area control or disruptive displacements. Although Hexxer is very popular as she should be.
[QUOTE = "- V-, post: 102640, member: 24"] 8-Ball is for a special kind of player and it's difficult to get the most of it. [/ QUOTE] W are playing Carnage as one of the rounds, which is a mission that really hurts 8 ball (If it was 2 points for 3-5 wounds he would be super happy). That said, I have him in my 8 and intend to use him in other missions.
Sure, but I would consider every other character except 8 ball in carnage, simply because he gives up so many points. Him being worth the same as max is crazy Imo.
I recently ran an event and here was our character breakdowns by players: Forgive the low res, I copy pasted it from a FB Chat group, the original is at my home PC.
He feels* underpowered with his dice options, especially compared to other movement based characters. I used him every round in that event and I did get one great result in King of the Hill with him shoving everyone out of the zone and getting himself in, but that was very much the wonder scenario with adding extra dice to the attacks. *Just felt to be the general consensus when using him.
Flipswitch's event also showed less participation by Mushashi than I would have expected. I think that a great strength of Aristeia is that not only that there a different styles of play by different individual players but also that different communities evolve different styles of play. I am very much looking forward to the larger venues of Gencon and Interplanetario to see whether certain winning strategies emerge by Darwinian competition.
I am far too lazy for this and you know it. The lack of 10/10 Hexxers was one of my friends forgetting to pick her in his initial draft.
Can't speak for others, but I don't believe I picked Holographic Sight in any of the 3 rounds, and Ricochet only in Round 2 (King of the Hill). Snakebite is just a universally useful card as 100 to 0'ing someone is rarely a waste. Plus the preponderance of Dazzled and Immobilized (Hexxer, Gata, Valk) among the currently released cast makes it even more brutal. EDIT: Disclaimer: I came 7th, so probably don't know what I'm talking about. :'D
Not suprised to see 8-ball lower (he needs a rebalance IMHO), but VERY surprised to see Mushashi at the bottom. He is so dangerious that I want to use him most games. Was he losing out to massacare and Val because of competition at the melee slot? Or does your meta favor shooting / senarios favored movement? Sent from my SM-J320P using Tapatalk
