Hey guys! So, I had my first Haqqislam match. I was playing Assassins vs Aleph and I got crushed to the point I conceded prior to entering turn two. But, with practice, that will change. There is a whole bunch of stuff we can get into. But, after thinking it over I felt I lacked a strong reactive team. This is where I want to focus. I have two slightly different lists that sport different reactive teams.

The first list uses all total reaction remotes; meaning, I get to fire my full burst value during my opponents turn. The only thing I dislike is that I had to cut two Mutts and a War Core.

    Team-01:
    [x1] Al-Djable
    [x2] Fiday
    [x3] Farzan
    [x1] Barid Hacker + LT
    [x1] Shihab Remote w/ HMG
    [x2] Kameel Remote w/ Rifle & Shotgun

    Team-02:
    [x5] Daylami w/ Panzerfaust
    [x2] Mutts

The second list removes the remotes for a ghulam link team. I like that I am using a five man link team as it is one of the main reasons to playa sectorial. But, is it the best defensive option to support my assassins? Note, I had to remove a Farzan incorporate the five man link team. Also, I left the Ghulams profiles blank. This leaves me 26 points to play with in weapon load outs.

    Team-01:
    [x1] Al-Djable
    [x2] Fiday
    [x2] Farzan
    [x5] Ghulam w/ Sharif

    Team-02:
    [x5] Daylami w/ Panzerfaust
    [x4] Mutts
    [x1] War Core

What reactive team do you think best fits my assassins lists?

I'm relatively new to Bahram myself, having just started playing them over the past few months. I find that a good majority of my lists start with a Ghulam core that looks like this.

    [IMG] Hassassin Bahram
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]5
[IMG] GHULAM Missile Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 17)
[IMG] GHULAM Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 16)
[IMG] GHULAM Doctor Plus (MediKit) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16)
[IMG] GHULAM Lieutenant Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12)
[IMG] LEILA SHARIF Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Shock Marksman Rifle, D-Charges / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20)

    2 SWC | 81 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

Depending on what else you're running, the Lt doesn't have to be part of the core, or even be a Ghulam (If I've got the SWC I don't mind taking a Barid Lt). Also depending on what you're running you can also fit another ML or Sniper into the core. For personal, taste, I don't usually put an HMG in there as I often do my attacking with other pieces, but it's certainly not bad choice.

Your mileage may vary, but I don't often use TR bots, especially the rifle ones, as I find them to be too easy to counter. The HMG bot in particular is by no means bad. With the proper support it can waste a quite a few of your opponent's orders and even get a few kills, but I tend to like to spend those points elsewhere.

The TR kameels aren't really good, its better put a Rafiq in supression instead.

Fidays aren't the best attack pieces, they're good for havoc and chaos, not for long fights, specially versus CA or Tohaa. And 3 of them usually don't worth it. Why not only one Fiday, an Ayyar and you can have mutts back.

And what's the mission? That's important, haqq is not the best for direct confronts.

And one more thing about ARO, they will die, don't matter what you do.

Not everyone agrees but dont ever concede. If they force you into retreat that only gives them the next turn to get all the points. Second if you arnt there left, you can still get points. Come up with a plan for what you can get with what you have left and execute.

The point of ARO is to cost your opponents orders, not to live or kill (though thats nice on the rare occasion it happens). Personally I like Govads against aleph. MSV1 for that ODD. Muyibs are nice for mines and that nasty heavy rocket launcher

Hey guys, like I said I’m new to playing the game and this was my first game with Haqqislam.

@ambisinister: I’ll be taking your advise and go for the Ghulams. But, I’ll be grabbing missile launchers for my ARO weapon of choice.

@HardDisk: This is more or less a “tilt” or “theme” list to me. If I wanted optimized I would have gone regular. As for the mission, me and my friend decided the moment of. We dont have a seriously structured group yet nor do I have all the models.

@Wombat85: I will most definely specialize against my opponent down the road once I have more or most of the models and we become more serious.

You can proxie to see what you like. Something to note is that the whole game is based around knowing the mission before list selection, not after. Of course there is no wrong way to play, but some missions can actually be impossible to win without knowledge during list creation. Haqq is a great army that centers on asymetrical trades, always be thinking "What is the most I can kill with X before they die"

5x daylami panzfausts is an enormous amount of ARO. Personally I run one TR bot and one Ghulam sniper, and consider that enough. ARO is just there to slow your opponent's advance in certain areas, so that they choose to go somewhere else. Then on your active turn your pieces advance to punish your opponent's openings. For Bahram that might mean a Fiday, a Farzan, a Asawira +/- muyib Haris, an enhanced remote (TR or FO bot), or most likely a Ragik.

    Cheapest good defensive link:
    3x Ghulam snipers
    1x Doctor or LT
    1x Leila

Adding 4x Mutts and 1-2 midfield minelayers creates an astoundingly defensive list.

Lasiq core of 1-2 snipers and 1-2 rifles is also usable, but you don't get the 5-man bonuses. You also don't get any specialists for that turn 2-3 push, and they're only 4-2. You also lose out on the great Ghulam or muyib core links.

I'd recommend using the army builder so that we can actually see the loadouts that you're running. If you're running 2 Fidays and Farzans, I'd recommend having mines on as many of them as you can and use command tokens to drop them everywhere. If you're going against Aleph often, I'd actually recommend Govads. While I'd almost never do that, the MSV1 can really help vs all their visual mods, and they have the same weapons as Ghulam for the reactive turn.
