I went to my first tournament in a while and ended up placing third out of 18. I was thinking about how the games played and how fortunate I was that my lists were able to handle what was thrown at them but thinking that there would've been some lists I would've struggled with. I attempt to build types of two lists for events. Both lists are capable for dealing with all missions but one has longer ranged and the other for denser tables.

The missions were Capture and Protect, Acquisition and Power Pack. My Lists were:

I don't like playing double mates. It is rather overkill. I would take a k1 rifle in one list if you would fight military order or a tag. And personally I'm a huge fan of the taquel

Ok one question how are you fighting tags or HIs with this list? No missile launcher sukeul, no K1 not even breaker shotgun?

I'd bet SMG (those have an AP fire option), the Surdas, and the heavy flamethrowers

Ok possible but if you have bad luck with the map you won't be able to get close enough...is there any place to buy the taqueul?

Makauls can get into melee and try to cut it down via crits and/or bad rolls

We have nothing of the Taqeul, just the profile (no miniature, no render, no Concept drawing...).

Yeah Tohaa got some possibilities if they get close enough, but thats not always easily done even with the eclipse grenades

TAGS I generally manage by killing orders. A TAG like the Squalo or Avatar can be hard at the best of times but I find that you can generally neuter them by removing a large bunch of orders through the Clipsos or Symbiobeasts then managing them later.

As for HI yeah they’re a bit more problematic. Generally the Sukeul HMG in active will be enough to kill any defensive HI link team with the exception of riot grrls. I vary the list sometimes to include a Kaauri (Nimbus Sphere) so that you can manage them. Failing that the Symbiobeasts again can usually manage them once you’ve broken their link bonus.

Ah thanks yeah order starving is solid

How do Symbiobeasts manage HIs? So far in most games they died against even weak units without doing that much

You must focus on them. Run them up. If you take 2 surdas and run with both in cc your opponent chooses a target. If he is also good at cc and chooses surda 1 then attack with surda 2 if not, then make a face to face roll with surda 1
You can also go dogged which is pretty good. So if you take a wound with a beast go dogged and make the most possible damage

Thats good if the map allows you to get close enough to get into cc with 6" the maps I am playing are mostly in a way that that wouldn't work so they get shot dead before they reach cc

Something like a HI Pain train is not going to be easy to take down for any faction. The thing I’d aim for would be does the list have the tools to manage X if it comes up. For most part either a Sukeul HMG triad (except riot grrls) and Sundra Symbio Beasts should be able to manage them. Do they necessarily need to be managed turn 1 though? Answer is probably no.

The HI pain train is probably going to have to move up field at some point. You can fail guts on your long ranged pieces after you use mates to draw them in then get at them in favourable range bands. Is it going to be easy? No. It should be possible however a knowledgeable opponent will make it as hard and as order intensive as possible to do this. Another thing I do try especially with the 4 sniper list is to coordinate a BS attack at a single ARO piece. Especially if it’s their ML you can really make it hurt them. 2 viral snipers and a TO camo sniper aren’t bad at this type of work.

Thanks, I played yesterday against CA and he had one of their tags, I had first turn and he made the mistake of placing his TAG in a way that my sukeul ML could hit him, it took me 3 orders to down him. So the ML Sukeul feels pretty good so far against HIs and TAGs. I am trying Kerails out next against these kind of threats

Let us know how it goes. I usually run a Sukeul ML and if I am and the opportunity presents itself I’ll take shots instead of the beasts.

Running a Sukeul ML will mean I’m not running another 1.5 SWC which could be nikoul or Sukeul HMG which can also present it’s own problems.
