Hello, We are a small group of people who want to organize a World Team Championship event. This questionnaire is to see if there is interest in organising a WTC for Infinity. There are several WTC like events organized for other games (Warhammer (40k), Warmahordes, Flames of War etc) These events are great for people to play competitively and meet (new) friends. A WTC matches teams of 3 or 5 players versus another team, players are paired in secret against other players. The team that wins the most matches wins the round. The team that wins the most rounds will be crowned the World Team Champions of that year. If enough people are interested we will start with garnering people to have a committe who will then continue with this event. A first guess is that this event will be hosted in 2024. Austria has already found more than enough players for any upcoming WTC :D As the question was raised: Will there be any chance of allowing more than one team per country? Given that Infinity is popular in some countries and not known in others at all. No comparsion to e.g. 40k. Keeping the 1 team limit could lead to fewer teams than otherwise. If needed we could bring a lot of terrain with us.
Short answer for now would be yes. But this is something that will/can be discussed in a later stage. We had a similar situation with the Guild Ball WTC --> There were 3 German/English/American teams and only 2 Dutch teams for instance. A theoretical example: Each country can be given max 3 teams and if more places would be available additional teams can be added. But again I don't know for sure how a future possible committee would handle this case
Latvian community is really interested, of course will depend on dates, prices, and travel logistics. But big team tournament is something we were talking about for quite some time, and would love to try. I know that before COVID there was supposed to be a team tournament in Poland, but sadly it got cancelled and never re-scheduled (at least as far as I know). There's also a team tournament in France, in January, and they got quite a lot of teams (but in our case the logistics aren't looking good), so it seems there's some interest in team tournaments, the big question is, have people shrugged off the post-COVID slumber and ready to travel for tournaments.
Our timelime for now is planing in 2023 with the event itself in 2024. In theory covid should be in the past for most people. Cheers,

Some updates: For now please read our initial message regarding the questionnaire results and if people are interested in being the host for this event contact us via infinity.team.championship@gmail.com. https://docs.google.com/document/d/...ouid=108640911969376476366&rtpof=true&sd=true We as a committee have had our first meeting on 23-01-2023 and wil meet again and have had our 2nd meeting on 23-02-2023. The pointers fromt these meetings are as followed: Because most of the players that voted for attending this event are from Europe (64%) we are focussing on European venues as this makes the most sense. Other continents can ofcourse attend this event or we could work together to host a similar event on that continent. All winners from such events could face off via TTS to determine the overall winner for example. Currently we have 3 strong bids from Germany which we are exploring this as the parties in Germany will be able to provide the desired 50 tables (with some help). Option 1: Hamburg is a nice city but not the best in terms of (public) transport connections Option 2: Frankfurt is the best city in terms of international connections but might be the most expensive ones Option 3: Göttingen is the most economical option but will need international players to use the train connections after flying. We are aiming to be able to organise this event from Q2/Q3 in 2024 or later. We will go with a 3 players team format for the first event. We will go with a friends team format for the first event (so players from different countries can team up) this to be as inclusive as can be with this event. We got some feedback from people who though the event would cost 800 in total but this is not correct.
