I'm trying to figure out what is the best solo ARO sniper roles for QK. For discussion purposes lest assume you have 5 man offensive fireteam, and you want to add some passive long range ARO pieces. (1.5 | 21) 9 SWC | 177 Points Open in Infinity Army I've been trying the Djanbzan because I like the idea of it passively regenerating and getting back up, but I'm thinking Mimitism may be better than msv\regen. Then it's choice for either Hawwa or Kaplan. I think the hawwa is better. when I have an offensive core I tend to play 10 order in the main group, and secondary BG is for refilling the primary, so the irregular order is not a huge issue in the secondary group. The last option I think is feasible is the a ghulam haris with 2xSR & doc. What is the hive minds opinion?
Hawwa all the way. Cheaper in both SWC and points, better deployment options, additional value due to minelayer.
Hawwa is best. Last tournament had some nice towers just out of DZ and not higher than 8" so that the mine could deploy on the ground level. I like using Djan Sniper, but in a re-fill-able core team ARO, not solo. Compared to hawwa sniper cost; the 1.5 SWC HRL doesn't match. Less range, does have a template (continous and ignore cover mod) but you have to connect the shot first. ML are usually good ARO but I have not really considered it in QK. Alg can haris with Ghulam (2Pts less than Ghulam). And Alg ML is always better than Alg MSR. I think the problem with QK is that you can have 0.5SWC Sniper ARO. Other faction that only have 1.5SWC Sniper can consider the 1.5SWC HRL or ML options.
The Al'Hawwa Sniper/Minelayer is very good in active and reactive turn - Marker state, Mimetism, Surprise Shot, dropping mines, cheap points- and SWC-wise. It's an overall useable package I take every time when playing StarCo and Haqq Vanilla (haven't played QK for some time).
I'm leaning to the Hawwa. Having a second camo to place as a fake sniper makes you opponent second guess himself. I usually stick to regular order just because I like the flexability. I already bait with a Hafza HRL, deployed in a sloppy position as a short ranged specialist. It's a surprising counter to fire teams flanking you. They usually forget to leave space between the fireteam leader and rest of them. They waste orders and lose models. But I don't think I can afford the SWC of that and an upgraded sniper.
