Anyone have suggestions on carrying and protecting terrain with lots of additional pieces stuck to it? Thinking, sattelite dishes, shop signs etc. The idea of sticking it all in a big plastic tub is a bit daunting having seen what has happened to some club mates' terrain collection.
Carry is always a problem. Be bought in new shelfs so we could store everything without things touching anything else. That is always a problem when you need to move things with you. One idea is that all small parts like signs can be removed, not gluing if possible or using magnets. What happened ith the tub-terrain? I would think that would be a good idea?
If they are that delicate, get smaller individual containers to hold them, and foam, which you may have to cut yourself. There are always Plano cases which see plenty of use for TTGs and board games. The latter uses the Plano cases meant for organizing hardware, not storing firearms. Available pretty much anywhere.
I have built especially fragile terrain pieces with a single large nut in the center of the bottom. A bolt is mounted in the center of a cake holder https://www.amazon.com/slp/cake-holder-with-lid/6cu3ua6w8xrwvs8 so that the scenery piece can be securely screwed down, the cake holder lid then snaps in place.
