Greetings, I love Bolts...loved them since N2. They were the whole reason I got into the game. Right now Bolts are sitting in a really good place, despite the irony in the fact that the moment BioImmune becomes good is the moment they lose it. Bolts headbutting away monofilament weapons on a 7 was certainly going to ruin many a persons day. I have a proposal though. Get rid of the standard 23 pt Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun profile and make drop bears standard issue. The 1 pt difference is negligible in terms of the benefits that would come with having drop bears. The normal trooper becomes the 24 pt option, the LT and CoC both go up by a point in gaining drop bears but oh so much capability and would increase their competitiveness in terms of should i take these profiles. A 24 pt LT who can't get isolated can layer any potential attack vector of his troops or himself with a template prior and have players lean into the Bolt LT.
Because you really only have 2 choices. Combi Rifle + LSG with Drop bears or BSG and Drop bears, which they had previously plus the CoC version rocking Drop Bears, which didn't allow it to blend in the rank and file. If I'm building a core I want everyone to be able to do something. Special Weapon Bolt (MSR, Spitfire, ML etc), Bolt Infowar (KHD, HD), Specialist (Machinist, Paramedic, Bipandra) and a support guard. The Drop Bear profiles fill the 5th or 6th man spot perfectly, and personally I'd rather be rocking a Bolt LT purely because it only provides one avenue in which to put me into LoL...you have to put him down physically, none of this jamming, oblivion etc business you physically need to put a bullet in his head.
