Quote source Judging by the swords they probably meant Swiss Guard, and pretty sure Carano is the world's shittiest instructor.
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you can teach it. Not to mention CC15 is meant to be respectable given the fluff about Zhanshi and Yu Jing in general, it's just that this game massively exaggerates CC difference so it becomes reliable given its awful burst and general inefficiency.
Aquila and Swiss guards know swords are worth shit when you can point & shoot. But those look nice at the parades, and CC training is always a nice chance to get closer to that hot colleague of yours. Or the teacher...ahhh, how many times we dreamed of the teacher proposing some particular lesson.
Agreed. There is a reason why large bayonets were dropped during and after WWI. Then replaced with the Knife which could also attach to the gun as a smaller bayonet. Swords and larger blades than army knives are mostly for dress since they are cumbersome and a determent to the user in the warzone. More likely to lead to the users death through it size especially during the pulling out process after a thrust. Smaller blades means quicker removals and thus less time being defenseless unable to block or attack.
If I had any handicrafts skills at all I'd probably convert myself a sword or halberd for an Aquila, sense be damned. I'm a sucker for the dramatic long coat and my longstanding "coolest moment in Infinity" involved an Aquila in close combat though, so I'm a bit biased.
I've seen Shinobu get Electric Pulsed by a Palbot. Tears were shed, fun was had, beers were opened in his honor. (Yes she rolled snake eyes vs an automatic 7, a single 2 would have been a tie) My personal claim to fame os Saito winning vs 2 Berserking Galwegians in CC. No Crits, made all 3 ARM rolls, killed them with extreme predjudice.
