So by the books, I know the answer to this question, but I want to float the possibility out there and see what your opinions are. I want to save points on a Yaogat Harris by using a Raktorak, and since it is a Wildcard and can fill any spot in a fire team, could it take the place of the Haris Yaogat profile in the Haris Team?
No. To form a Haris, you must still have a model with the Haris skill. A Raktorak doesn't, so can't replace it. At best you could have him replace one of the other Yaogats, or else run the team as a three-man core which has no such restriction.
yeah i know that but just floating ideas out there about how powerful a Wildcard troop truly is. A flight of fancy if you will. Though my theory-crafting crazy brain may be giving too much power to the word wildcard; which in my mind says it is able to fill any and all rolls. But i do know it means by the terms of the game that the profile has to be there. Though now that I think of it; a Raktorak Haris profile would be an amazingly powerful profile for MAF to have and would love to see show up in the next update.
What you can do is use them to create fireteams that you can choose on deployment; this list here can choose to have a Daturazi Fireteam or Yaogat Fireteam as it puts down. Or you can go second, have your Yaogats work as defensive pieces, then when they get shot down form up your dat fireteam and attack. Thanks guys. As I have said but I do know the limits on Raktoraks and their fire team insertions. What I was trying to do was theorycraft/speculate how powerful a word 'Wildcard'. And the possibilities it could have had. Corvus Belli was very good in closing the loophole I that could have existed. I am just left wishing we had a Raktorak Haris Profile.
We don't need a Raktorak Haris profile, mate. It's already pretty great as it is. Consider the following: For 23 points you get a flamer and a specialist. That's 6 points cheaper than the next best yaogat profile and a whole 13 less than the only yaogat specialist option! And as was mentioned earlier, you can even use it as a backup piece for other teams, he's super useful as is right now. I often have 2 in a list just because of that hability.
