Hi guys. I’ve recently bought the current Imperial service starter box, but I have no idea on what to buy next. Ideally I’d like to get the army up to 300pts so do you guys have any suggestions? I should also mention I would like to use as many of the models in the starter as possible.
Greeting In a short answer: Kuang shis, shoptofect and su jian. The main decision will be decide between celestial guard core ( then go for zhansi with special waepon to proxy) or kuang shi core ( then go for a big guy like su jian to eat orders). To acomplish missions one ninja/kanren blister will be a good option. And also remotes: Normal remotes box is a good toolbox. Total reaction can be usefull, weibing remote can be a decent specialist, the 8 points is a tipical cheerleader and guied missle is fine ( try to combine it with sniffer kanern) Rui shi/ lu dan are good atack options but if you don't want to spend too much money you should choose between them and Su Jian. Anyway, are you new to infinity? This is your first army ( to know what kind of advice do you need) Pd: kuang shi core is "meta" but i prefer the celestial guards one ( supported with kuang shis ofc). Apart celestial guard link make usfull the grulla imperial agent from the starter.
Step one: save money, wait for February for the new box of Kuangshi. Step 2: Aleph's support pack, find a Steel Phalanx dude and sell him the antennas (called Netrods), or start an Aleph army of your own ;) Step 3: Su Jian box Step 4: Think about sun Tze. Step 5: remotes... both the exclusive to YJ (Lu Duan, Rui Shi) and the S3 ones (for a Total Reaction). Step 6: You need a ninja and a Kanren.
It was "leaked" by a US shop. Anyway, we will get confirmation of that this month, and I believe Bostria did say that the Kuangshi would be resculpted this year.
I must admit I am fairly new to the game. I’ve played a few games with my friends at around 150/200 pts and I think I’m getting the hang of the rules. If you do have any advice it would definately be much appreciated thanks.
Heavy armor, Mimetism, Total Immunity Strategos Lvl 3 Great ARO potential with WIP 17 and a Flash Pulse He's like a Saladin that's also a great door kicker. Or even a little Avatar. Opponent: "I know who his LT is, lets go assassinate him!" Sun Tze: "No."
The Flash Pulse almost feels broken sometimes. 2 wounds with NWI and Total Immunity, and a flash pulse that shoots at 20 inside of 24 inches?
Ok I’ve come up with a list which I feel could perform reasonably well... maybe... also it doesn’t contain Sun Tze but with 15 orders and 4 impetuous I’m hoping It doesnt need him. Anyways, tell me if it sucks. Instead of typing it out like this, you can just hit the "Export to Forums" button in Infinity Army and you'll get something to copy paste that looks like this instead: Imperial Service ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 CRANE IMPERIAL AGENT (X Visor) Spitfire, 2 Nanopulsers / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 5) 6 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army I'm not normally an ISS player, but I don't think I would leave my Hsien with so few orders on later turns. The problem is the Kuang Shi will likely get blown off the board by the end of your opponent's second turn (and you'll probably lose 1-2 on the first turn anyway) and you'll have to use a command token to move the Hsien. I'd be more likely to do something like take a Pheasant CoC with a Red Fury instead of the Crane and put him and the Rui Shi with the Kuang Shi. That way you can do Rui Shi stuff and Pheasant Stuff and just free agent him when you have to. Totally different story if you play the Kuang Shi link instead though since it makes those orders much much more survivable. For example, a combat group like this looks super scary to me: Imperial Service ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 2 8 4 HSIEN Lieutenant HMG, Nanopulser / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 61) ZHÀNYING (Fireteam: Haris, Sensor) Breaker Combi Rifle, Nimbus Grenades / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 27) ZHÀNYING (Forward Observer) Breaker Combi Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 25) CELESTIAL GUARD (Kuang Shi Control Device) Combi Rifle + Light Smoke Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 13) KUANG SHI Chain Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5) KUANG SHI Chain Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5) KUANG SHI Chain Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5) KUANG SHI Chain Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5) 3 SWC | 146 Points Open in Infinity Army
Well then, some advices: -If you play agresive core ( not on only to ARO with snipers) take it with calm and try to play 10 orders games, is the better to learn how to move it ( and more important, how to avoid having it killed in reactive turn, tipical warband with chain rofle etc). Moving a link is an art xD. - if you let something on ARO, accept this think will die... But sometimes it is better to deploy the ARO troop covering only a portion of the map ( area denial) better than with vision of all map ( then will be how many orders can this remote take before it's destroyed). - the one i learned by the hard way. NEVER, NEVER USE YOUR HSIEN ( insert your used big guy) as and aro troop, if you are not and supression fire range and you have some other troop covering his back. Big guys are strong buy one dice in aro against a full hmg/spitfire etc is dead to them. And about making lists don't worry, evan with the "meta" you can do most of the combinations work. Play and you will see how do you manage better. I like your list ( big grulla Hsien fan here xD).
Thanks, I had no idea you could do that, that will make life a hell of a lot easier haha. Hmmm, I definately see what you mean, it’s just that I love the idea of the Crane link but also love the mini for the Hsien. I’ll definately keep you advice in mind, and after I’ve played a few games, I’ll see how the Hsien + Shi combat Group performs. Thanks dude. Thanks for the advice mate, it’s much appreciated :)
You can always use a Dactyl or a Chandra Spec Ops as a proxy for the Sophotect if you don't want to buy the entire Aleph Support pack that Sophie is sold in. Granted it will provide you with yudbots, but I just use the Yaozaos from the JSA Tokusetsu box.
I use Avicenna as my Sophotect. I hate how the actual Sophotect model looks. I also bought the Interventors box so I could use fast pandas as my Yaozao.
