It's been a few months since a thread where we took a sad look at Teutons. Our requests can now take a turn from the reasonable to the just pitiful. Can these poor broken knights at least have DA weapons as a base? an expensive HI model with berserk shouldn't be trading a wound for a chance to do a maximum of 1 wound.

Im hoping N4 brings an extensive restructuring of the order, but if you cant find something cool to do with them, please give them DA as base. After all you gave every other cool CC kid out there in their point ranger berserk NBW AND a good weapon.

and while I'm here i'd like for holo 2 to include free mimetism. that is all

AP CCWs are actually going to be a half-decent choice when N4 comes around for real big-game hunting. Lower-PH melee guys are going to be bouncing off TAGs all turn long without crits auto-wounding. As a HI, though, I agree that Teutons would be better off dragging about a DA, EXP or other multi-wound ammo type to make better use of the extra PH. That, or D-Charges. AP CCW+D-Charge on a Berserk unit could be absolutely devastating.
Nope. Please could we have less of that infernal skill in the game; it's getting to the point for some factions it's easier to remember which units don't have a Camo level.

I fully expect CB to give Teutons the greatest gift of all when N4 arrives.

    A grave.

My pick is that the order is annihilated in the time jump between N3 and N4.

...well, Crits are gonna be "DA" anyway, sooo....

You're kinda getting what you want? :D
Also looks like getting a MA level isn't out of the question if the Mommy Knight is any indicator. 6-2 MA1 would mean you don't have to use Berserk unless there is a good reason to.

Why? They already have a superior melee ammo:

But to be honest I concur with Admiral: Paradiso is lost they should just simply vanish in N4.

If they stick around majority of the profiles should have at least DA . As it stands they have a good chance of just trading a wound 1 for 1 with even non cc specialists if they use berserk.

I dont mind AP ccw being spread around. I mind their profile overall. Give them combi+flame throwers, give them eclipse smoke, change the spitefire to a red fury, give them a Vulcan shotgun, give them martial arts or NBW but for the love of god give them something to make them look like they fight in a jungle and something that let's them function in melee.

SMG, HFT, Eclipse Grenades, AP or EXP CCWs, and we're good.

I've only just started playing MO.

Does, I've been using Tueton harris + Magister APCCW / Panzer + order OS paramedic.

That seems like a solid Harris to me,

Do people hate them because they have combis and ARM3?

    So, this Haris:

TEUTONIC KNIGHT (Fireteam: Haris, Specialist Operative) Combi Rifle, Panzerfaust / Pistol, AP CCW. (0.5 | 36)
MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 22)
ORDER SERGEANT Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15)

    0.5 SWC | 73 Points

I mean, it's got two specialists in it.

    Yeah...

    I guess it's cheap?

It can't fight out past 16" and sits in a Sectorial with no ability to cover it with Smoke or any other tool to advance past AROs. So I have no idea what it's actually going to achieve on most tables against most opposition.

How have you been using it?

    What am I missing here?

Well I've had four games on TTS, so I am obviously an expert. Having this link in 3/4 games

Interesting you say that, I take these guys precisely for the panzerfausts, so I can deal with ARO threat. I co-ordinate order them with either a HRL OS and TRbot/ Seraph or anything that can get b2 as spearhead.

I use this link to press forward turn 1 and present a threat to my opponent, usually on a flank. If they dont deal with them I'll try push on and do damage. If they do deal with them the other flank will likely have my 5 man link or peacemaker/montesa that they've ignored

I use the Magister as an ARO, often trying to make my opponent have to deal with him if he wants to advance. If he goes down I don't mind, as he is cheap. If he wins the fight, he'll probably do some damage. I also have the paramedic who has 55% chance to get him up.

I also use the Tueton on suppression fire and when I can find short firelanes in midfield, once the link has taken some damage

But you are taking a haris to break apart to do coordinated orders?

the link itself has such a hard time advancing under its own power, like if you had at least the teuton spitfire in there to clear aros, but you're relying on a disposable weapon that is burst 2 to deal with any threat that blocks you from advancing ?

I specifically dislike teutons due to lack of stealth ,which punishes midfield HI operations, and the fact that they only have an AP weapon to go with their berserk. Also residual salt from the fact they took magisters linking with hospitallers away just to make teutons more interesting, instead of making them a competitive option to hospitallers or making them an interesting diverse order of knights

I see what you're saying, I'll keep trying them.

So far I found I only need to coordinate them against a substantial ARO piece. I wont deny it is command token intensive, hence why I've run Joan almost exclusively.

Once they're near midfield, I want to break them apart anyway, I don't want the whole harris over extending. Otherwise I stand to lose 3 orders. Often the Magister would be the one sent further to try deal damage

The Tueton on suppression fire is respectable threat in a tight quarter, especially if he's not yet frenzied. I'd also gladly take on Combi rifle AROs with him from outside 16 -- 3 or 4 dice on 8s is respectable against 1 dice coming back on 8/9/10

I've yet to run into hackers, so that maybe the reason for my rose tinted vision

    Thanks for the advice

My meta has a heavy presence of OSS and Tunguska. Teutons are crap against both.

Best thing to do with them? Give their loadouts to Hospitallers, kill them, and give them a nice entry in panoceanian history books. The amount of love they need to become competitive or even usable in my meta is way beyond what CB can give them.

Unless we are talking a redesign from scratch, I don't think they should remain as a usable profile.

We've outlined near infinite solutions in endless threads. The groundwork has been done for CB. At this point its just falta de ganas on their part.

Yeah, it's less of a matter of can or cannot and more of a will or will not.
