I was having a read of the Para-ammunition rules and engaged state. It seems that winning CC with a Para-weapon (active or reactive turn) and causing the enemy trooper to enter IMM-A state would automatically end the engaged state as activation of engage state requires "The Trooper is in Silhouette contact with an Enemy Trooper, and neither are in an Immobilized or Null (except Sepsitorized or Possessed) State." Does this mean that while the Para-CC troop could still declare CC-attack (due to still meeting requirements for CC-attack - "Be using a Melee Weapon, a Skill, or piece of Equipment that allows for a CC attack. / Be in Silhouette contact with an enemy Model or Target.", they would not benefit or suffer from other conditions of the engaged state? i.e - Will have LoF outside the combat Can use Move to move away from the combat Can use BS attack against the IMM-A unit they are in silhouette contact with Can be shot at without applying the 'BS attack into close combat' rule Can be hit by template weapons without the template being cancelled due to the template affecting all troopers in the engaged state?
Just be careful as activation requirement is not the same as cancellation clause. Not meeting the activation does not mean you stop being in the state. (ex: holoecho state can activate if you are out of LoF in State Phase... if during State Phase you are not out of LoF anymore, you still keep your state.) As for this case, yes, cancellation is automatic and not an option (in N3 at a point you could chose to stay engaged to give -6 MOD to be shot or you could disengage and gain normal LoF) : "A Trooper's Engaged State is automatically cancelled if, in the Effects step of any Order, all enemies in Silhouette contact are in an Immobilized or Null (except Sepsitorized or Possessed) State." Following the cancellation, the state will not re-activate because you are not meeting the activation clause (As you quoted, Sil contact where neither are IMM/Null).
