Wasn't sure if I should post this in the PanO boards or not but since this is specifically regarding my interest in Bayram securities, I am putting this here. How do you guys feel about the PanO drone models? Is there a general consensus about their quality and whether or not they are due for a re-sculpt? They do seem to be much older models judging by how they look in the catalog. I collected Haqq, QK more specifically, and have been very happy with the quality of the models on the Haqq end. The Druze look terrific both before and after their updates and I love the new Bashi Bazouks and Hunzakuts. Scarface and his sister also look great so no problems on the TAG end. I'll very likely pick the drone models up anyway but I'd like to hear some opinions about how well they stack up visually next to our beautiful Haqq troopers!
I don't take PanO Drones. As a Haqqislam player I'm like: "Ugh... Pano :P " I usually even cut the weapons of PanO in my units ( Bashi Bazouk for example. Sooo I'm using Haqq remotes for SML, Rafiq et cetera. And I'm buying Yu Jing Rui Shi / Lo Duan to use them as PainMakers (not PeaceMakers obviously ;) ) and I'm converting myself an AuxBot. I always liked those YJ drones and I'm happy I will use them in Bayram :) PozdRawiam / Greetings
Especially with the new proxy rules making official how alot of us were playing it, you have a wide latitude to pick and choose which model you use to represent the Remotes in DBS. Meteor Zonds seem to be popular for representing Pathfinders for instance.
I like them the most out of the standard Drones. They have a cute but unique Tachikoma vibe to them. Lunokhod/Tsyklon and Kameels are really cool as well, but are on bigger bases.
That's funny. As both a PanO and a Haqq player, I despise the design of the Haqq remotes. They seem to fugly and weird. Not a huge fan of the peacemaker which just seems a bit fat but overall, happy with the PanO designs. Although I think some of the other factions have much neater looking REMS. As @jfunkd said, with the new proxy rules, it doesn't really matter. I'd argue it didn't matter before either but that probably depended on your meta. We have a pretty casual meta so proxying was fine except in the larger tournaments. Base size and silhouette size is all that matters. As long as you have the base size right and the right STokens then you're in the clear.
personally, give em a new paint job and the PanO drones are the bee's knee's. I've got 5 of the flipping little things, and 2 peacemakers and a bulleteer. They looke awesome
For me, the best combo is as follows: Baggage bots: Khameel, I have them painted in a police-like style (whites, blues and some black and red) which goes really well with my Djanbazan sniper and some Devabots (I need to get my hands on some Nomad infantry to paint in police like colors aswell). S4 bots: I only have the Tsyklons right now, but I will need to get some Lunokhod (I need more koalas!). I doubt I will pick the PanO s4 ones, though, since there would be overlap; I wouldn't mind to get the ODD S4 ones, but... koalas ^^U (I can always use Devabots for the Pathfinder's Auxbot). S3 Bots: I have CA's remotes (as a Total Reaction and an EVO), but those are for CA's use only. I also have the PanO S3 bots (mounted as Specialist remote and Total Reaction), which I use mostly as specialist remotes (16-17 points, the ones with Triangulated Fire) painted on a base red, and Aleph's S3 bots (mounted as Total Reaction and Guided Missile Launcher) for what they are or flash pulse bots, painted on a base white which I will remake "soon" XD It's a shame the JSA won't get their own remotes, I was hoping to see something more like a Tachikoma, but oh well. As you can see, all of my remotes go for the spidery-look. If anyone is curious, the PanO S3 "legs" use the same chassis system than the Tsyklons and the Khameel, with the CA ones using something similar but more vertically oriented (instead of having each pair looking like a 90ยบ rotated " [ ", each pair of legs are more in a " M " kinda shape) with the body being another part (plus antennas or heads, weapons, etc...). Then, Aleph's S3 bots are a body to which we attach a tail and 4 separated legs on the sides (I suggest to glue 3, to define a plane, then when those are dry add the fourth with the model on a flat surface).
I love the small PanO Rems, they mesh so well with the aux bots. But yeah, just use any REMs you like and paint 'em consistently, it'll be totally fine. My friend uses Alpeh REMs for his Yu Jing army and just painted them yellow, totally acceptable both in fluff and function.
The remotes are a great thing in Infinity. Having the core set of bots that ate pretty much interchangeable is awesome
A cheap missile launcher that could be teamlinked... what else? use it... and use it dirty as bayram its.
The PanO REMs look great on the table. The big optical "eye" really unifies the look of the Dronbots and combat REMs, and gives them a nice coherent look. I like the use of PanO stuff to give the impression of very well funded, very high-tech Merc company that spares no expense on materiel in the field. Gives them a nice sinister corporate look too.
