New to C.A. I really want to make a double Xeodron Haris team work. I have a couple of thoughts on it. First, with the Samaritan Harris you will want it in the thick of the fight, so making him your LT isn't the best choice. Make the Nexus Hacker your LT and upgrade the Samaritan to a Spitfire since you have the SWC to spare. Your 2nd combat group isn't really doing anything, so I would drop it and upgrade other profiles, like the Unidron link, for a limited insertion list. Plus, you can only have 1 R-drone in Onxy, so this list isn't ITS legal as is. You could also fit Kerr Nau into the Unidron link as well to give the Harris support mid-field and take out hackers that would threaten the Xeodron. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
Doesn't make use of all your SWC, but here's something for you to start with. Use the Harris as your aggressive piece with the unidron link taking out key ARO pieces, pushing buttons and Kerr Nau placing pitchers so your nexus LT can support with hacking as well. And of course Dr. Worm keeping his slaves close to doctor/engineer as needed. Nice! Well the idea was to make the dual Xeodrons to work, so I'm more inclined to change the other stuff. Good points though. Also, Limited Insertion is only for those specific types, so I'd rather focus on an all comer's list if possible.. For a L.I. list that does look great. The challenge I see is that Unidrons seem to be the most efficient choice for cheerleders, and by the time you take 3, you may as well just form the 2nd link team. My goal is to make the Xeodrons the aggressive assault team, and everyone else supports. edit: and thanks for the heads up on the R-Drones, I'm so used to building Aleph and Yu Jing lists.. heheh. Also I forgot that the Sumaritan doesn't have Mnemonica
OK, here's what I came up with. The idea is that the Unidrons will sit back with the Sniper on overwatch, while the Hacker hides and hopefully does some work through the remotes. Group 2 is mostly just there to replace casualties in group 1, with a possible bonus of moving the repeater in to a good position... Overall, still feels light on orders for 300 pts. but I guess that's to be expected with 2 TAGs? You can choose to play any mission with a limited insertion list, and it protects you from getting 2 orders stripped from you turn 1 if you get to go first. It's definitely a different play style than running 2 groups and you need to be efficient with how orders are used otherwise you'll always feel like you're an order or 2 short to do what you need to do lol. But, CA does do 1 order group lists fairly well. 12 orders doesn't feel like it would be enough to justify 2 order groups. The biggest problem I see is that the Harris takes up half your army points and Onyx doesn't have a whole lot of super cheap cheerleaders. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
It hurts so much to see so many SWC left out in the cold... and you definitely don't want to have a combat group with just 2 orders... one of which can't even be switched over (the Imetron). @Ronin - ah thank you, I didn't know Limited Insertion had a global ruling like that, was that in Human Sphere? @Sabin76 - Imetron can't switch groups using a Command token in the Tactical Phase? I can't find that anywhere.. Thank you for the input guys. OK, so basically what I'm getting here is that 10 orders CAN be legit. Back when N3 first came out, no one in our meta ran less than 12-14 orders. I get that there's a sweet spot and diminishing returns and all that, I guess maybe I just overvalued having extra transferable orders.. (I've been out of the game for a bit). Anyways, I'll try it with 10 orders. :)
Hey, the reason as I understand it is that they're under a weird classification as equipment rather than troopers, even though they do generate regular orders. Only troopers can change order groups.
Command tokens move troops to a different combat group, but the Imetron is piece of equipment and therefore doesn't qualify. The rules for limited insertion is in the ITS 9 rules. A TO can impose that extra rule so everyone is restricted to 1 combat group, but if it's not you can still run 1 group and benefit from preventing 2 orders being stripped from you. One lesson I've learned is to not put all your eggs in one basket. Every model should have a purpose and function. Units are going to die. Every roll has a 5% chance to crit, and armor rolls eventually fail. If after your 3 big guys fall all you have left are cheerleaders hiding in the back you aren't going to be able to do much the rest of the game. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk

The xeodron haris does all of the heavy lifting before superjumping atop a building at the end of turn to hide while the unidron li k does defensive duty. Dr Worm is doctor worm and the M drone can sensor out some HD traps if you're worried about hidden hackers or mono swords.

Those 3 points (and the remaingin one) could be used instead to upgrade one of the Missile Launches to a Plasma Sniper Rifle for the Unidron team. Btw, the idea is to place the Unidrons as a defensive, highly place fireteam covering as much terrain as they can, using the Nexus as backup to replace the first casualty and attacking with the xeodrons and Kerr Nau.
