    Hi fellow Empire Soldiers!

I am attending a tournament in a month, and since I have not played in long while I intent to take this for fun. However, I am on a mission: go and still play fast and furious with a single-group tough HI-concept of an IA list.

Although it is tough to have lost the advantage of not losing 2 orders first turn if going first, well, Infinity has changed.

Missions include classics like Firefight, Highly Classified and Supplies, and some new ones like Cryogenics. In all, they basically encourage having a wide range of specialists in your lists.

At the core, I am thinking of running a 3-man ShanJi link:
    - ShanJesus, because we all need firepower and a tinbot,
    - HRL guy, because I loved painting the mini and has a weapon for every range, as well as TA,
    - Hacker. Because a BTS6 tinwalled hacker with 2 wounds and a multirifle fills so many roles for me.

The link is obviously complemented by a Paramedic, and to keep it pure it is a Zuyong Paramedic. Another fast specialist that can "heal" our ShanJi on 14s!

5th man on the link, if any, is a wildcard, and the above 4 are half the list already.

We have the best Lt in the game and we take it. A Daoying of some sort of course. Due to points I am leaning onto the simple BSG one thou.

Then come the other pieces I love and want to try to make them work:
    - FD Krit has been a beast for me in the few games I played of N4. In many of the missions he will deploy halfway into the table, drop a mine or a repeater the Heavy Shotgun is good and he is FAST so he can accomplish objectives. He is the NCO to my Lt, he can carry 2 helperbots (one to leave behind in case the link needs Eng Support, and one with him to clear mines if required)
    - FD Hulang, can DUO with Krit for some more efficiency. Love the forks the Koalas generate, can get up and personal if needed or SupFire a short lane if they need to approach.
    - LeiGoing can fill a gap in the list by being non-hackable, Albedo and a can-opener.
    - LiuXing, some variant. I always leave him out of the lists, and every time I get him into one he proves me wrong. He provides a much needed secondary attack vector in IA, I think.
    - Zencha. Ah, my love of N3. He can do many things, be a needed Camo moving forward, drop mines, hack, spotlight, D-Charge stuff...

So, obviously with a Core set there are some pieces that share the same point-space, but have different approaches to problems. Hulang, LiuXing, LeiGong and Zencha are kinda my rotation.

What are your thoughts on a single-group HI list? How would you overcome the obvious drawbacks of shortage of orders? In that rotation and thinking about a generalist list, who would be your favorites?

It is as viable as it was. Still prone to spontaneous explosions - my experience is that there's rarely any comeback from an initial result for either you nor your opponent; the one who loses first two units tend to lose the game. Your HI will be better since the better stuff got cheaper, but their hacking got better and Firewalls no longer stacking with Tinbots.

When N4 came out I basically parked my IA. I played them specifically because I wanted an option to play Limited Insertion lists. I found that current IA list building only lets you put one 'fun' thing in it, and have to compromise if you want to have more than 1 usable battlegroups. I try not to put only a single linch pin in my lists. It just didn't play the way it used to. My HB list played more like a classic IA (extra orders with HI lead) list with the addition of Daylami ARO second battlegroup.

Just to bring back the classic IA feel I'd love to see a skill that lets you do a classic Limited Insertion skill. I think for balance it shouldn't be on an LT. Put it on an NCO wildcard profile. This lets you keep the Second LT order on your LT, and get the LI. Just to make it more flexible it might deny your opponent from using command token strategically. So LI lists are safe, no second reserves, No starting in suppressive fire.
