So, you're building up your Nomads list and only have room for one the obvious Lieutenant. What are some of the other profiles that Nomads have access to for helping to keep that Lt alive?

Anything with Crazy Koalas. Anything with smoke and / or direct template weapons. Camo on the Lt (Intruder). Cybermask on Interventors

    Puppetmaster Minelayer.

Co-ord it onto Suppression Fire and it's a great anti-Rambo piece

The Sin-Eater is a beast in Aro and can help control firelines. TR bot works as well but is less capable of holding its own.

Morlock can watch the sidelines and deter forces with their chainrifles or throw smoke to cover you Lt. Less optimal but line troops watching your sidelines can also help against AD or slow down an assault piece.

As others have said Koalas are great defense, make sure to spread them out as ideally you don't want both Koalas to go off against the same target.

Zero mine-layers are also phenomenal at defending an area. or a Zero Sniper can provide an unexpected defense piece.

Further more if your Lt. is super obvious anyway don't be afraid to use your Lt. order to throw them in Suppressive fire, or if your rocking a Interventor/Custodier Cybermask (though with the Custodier SF might well be better if you aren't worried about template weapons)

Lunukhod with HFT and crazy koalas can keep a backfield interventor or something alive
Specops can take COC as an option if that's in play

If you play second and fear rambo :
    Minelayer (puppemaster, zero, libertos)
Crazy koala (moran, maybe lunokhod or taskmaster) => Koala + minelayer is a good combo : mine works on camo while crazy work without LoF
Morlock to defend DZ (with E/M weapon, because isolation is great against rambo)
At least 1 KHD, maybe 2 (usually I take 2 zero KHD because KHD have bonus to push button in many missions)
Good ARO (sin eater is a good way to waste orders)
Also : E/Marat heckler => good way to stop a rambo if your opponent come to close to your DZ (isolated rambo = dead meat)

As soon as you play => go cybermask (check there are no KHD in your repeater area before doing it)

Also, depending on the army you face : be careful of Grenade Launcher (LGL or HGL) : on TAG or in FT, they can be deadly so hide in a room with closed door if you can.

The Lunokhod can also benefit from EVO remote running Overclock along with messenger and sensor REMs for a solid defense when going second.
