Question, when it comes to picking a Fiday I see two really good profiles. I’m uncertain which profile is superior. For 27 points he is outfitted with the basics plus mines and a DA claw. That DA claw helps stack the odds in killing a target while mines help disrupt movement. For 26 points she gets a boarding shotgun and AP CC weapon. She can splatter soft targets and pierce hard targets. I view the Fiday as a tool to help restrict enemy orders by killing soft targets or committing to removing one hard target. Because of this perspective I’m leaning towards the B.Shogun profile. But what are your thoughts? Is the DA winning more? Are mines wasted on him?
When you do use the one with the boarding shotgun, do you find yourself getting into close combat and killing with that weapon, or is it more likely that you stop short of that and are employing the shotgun for armor piercing and/or the template?
I haven’t used any. I’m just now going to be meeting up with a local group to learn more and play. I own most of Haqqislam and know enough to design a list, but there is still a lot I can’t answer due to a lack of table time.
When I have the choince between R+LS and BS, I tend to lean towards the first one. The lack of AP ammo does hurt, but the tactical flexibility of the R+LS combo tends to win me over more often than not. If they ever buff the BS to have a Large Teardrop template, maybe I'd reconsider, but as it stands, I don't think it's worth it
Having L.Shotgun the Boarding option is too redundant, the problem is that the "AP ammo" is almos the same as "the template" option, because the "template" option don't allow to use the -3 damage for covert. So, if you aren't shooting targets with Armour 7 or superior it is pretty much the same. And you loose the supressive fire option, range and burst, so isn't worthy. To me boarding shotgun profiles are, in general, overcosted, I probably even being the cheapest option, 24 points, for example, wlll not choose the boarding shotgun. The template should have too the Armour Piercing trait.
It’s a resounding backing of the 27 point profile. I know which one to pick now. And, it’s such a pity to see the B.Shotgun in such a lack luster place. Hopefully CB will correct this in the future.
I find that after Al Djabel got better in N4 the best answer is almost always to take him. Of course he is more expensive but still.
