Hello gentlemen - my first post here!

I made a list that I would like to share and I am counting on some comments on what and how I could change in order to get it better.
My experience is limited as I only played a few N3 games, but I know the basics and what worked for me and what didn't.
I also realize that it's hard to make a universal list, but I treat it as a practical exercise.
    Here's the list:

    Group 1 Pts - 300 SWC - 6

Saladin (Lieutenant [+1 Command Token]) 36
Fiday (Rifle, LS, Shock Mines, Smoke) 27
Shujae (SMG, Flammenspeer, E/M mines) 24
    Farzan FO 23
Hunzakut FO (Shock Mines, Deployable Repeater) 18
    Asawira (AP Spitfire) 39 1,5
    Mukhtar MSV2 (Red Fury) 36 1
    Zhayedan (HMG + Shock) 33 1,5
    Ghulam Doc+3 15
    Nasmat 3
    Group 2

    Daylami Camo Panzerfaust x4 24 2
    Fanous Remote 7
    Barid Hacker KHD 15
The first group consists of 9 regular and 1 irregular orders.
    • Saladin - after the changes to the Strategosa rule, we can issue two models after the opponent puts his own, regardless of whether we have the initiative or not. We also got an additional command token, which, if we are the first to go, can be used to issue an additional model after the opponent's models, which together (if I understand correctly) will give us 3 models displayed after the opponent, which allows us to create many threats that the opponent will have to face first round. Moving models between groups without the cost of CT can also be very useful. Saladin is unlikely to push forward, trying to survive the game.
    • Fiday plays a double role in the schedule - his task is to damage the opponent's order pool by attacking easy targets, or wait in Impersonation and allow the opponent to pump orders to discover the threat. The mines and smoke grenades are also important, which makes the Fiday quite a versatile model.
    • Shujae - FD + 8, mimetism -6, SMG, long range blast with continuous damage and mines - seems like a solid unit, just right for covering Fiday.
    • Farzan FO - infiltrating cammo, shock ammo specialist with shock mines and D-Charges.
    • Hunzakut FO - another Infiltrating cammo specialist with mines and repeater in midfield.
    • Asawira AP Spitfire - First attack piece - what to say - after changes Asawira looks awesome!
    • Mukhtar MSV2 Red Fury - 2'nd attack piece - was awesome before, now it's shock resistant NWI fast anti smoke shooter. Previously had quite a synergy with the mutt's and their smoke grenades, now the only model that has smokes on the table is Fiday unfortunately. But certainly still a strong unit.
    • Zhayedan HMG with Shock and Marksmanship - another attack piece with a solid 16 BS in its ranges. Also with regen.
    • Ghulam Doctor with Nasmat to fix the wounded on 18's.
Second group contains 2 regular and 4 irregular orders and is rather a group for the purpose of aro.
    • 4x Infiltrating Camo Daylami with panzerfaust - to keep enemy at bay.
    • Flash pulse bot - obviously!
    • Barid Hacker Killer to kill enemy hackers via many repeaters (pitcher included). Also easy to move to first group in case I need him to go somewhere.
I can see several uses for coordinated orders - I can deploy 3 mines in one go in the first group, or shoot with 4 panzerfausts in the second.
I also don't know if wouldn't it be better to distribute orders differently between the groups - here's my lack of experience.
I am looking for any advice so feel free to share :)

    Also here's army code:

    gZEJaGFxcWlzbGFtBCAxMTKBLAIBCgCBUAECAACBOAEDAACGCwEDAACBTAEDAACBNgEDAACBSQEEAACFIQEFAACBMQECAACBLQEIAACBTQEBAAIGAIFDAQYAAIFDAQYAAIFDAQYAAIFDAQYAAIE+AQEAAIFRAQIA

    Cheers!

I think the list is fine, but to use the Msv2 trick you have a little less smoke. The Fiday will at some point be gone except you are very cautious (which is not the intention) or lucky (crossing my fingers for you).

You only have a KHD which means less use for your repeaters.

At the end I guess the mission you are playing matters. But I am by no means an expert!

Just remember that in N4, there is a limit of 15 orders in standard. You could probably tweak your list by dropping one Daylami and upgrading the Farzan to Chain of Command.

EDIT: In addition, as of today, Daylami no longer have an SWC cost. That should allow for some additional Heavy Weapons.

Ok, I really made a mistake when counting - in the first group there are 8 regular and 1 irregular.
The question here is - does the Lieutenant generate one additional order that can be converted into a regular one, or does he generate only one - a special lieutenant order?

Besides, doesn't the army composition restriction apply to 15 troopers and not to 15 orders?

Wow 0 SWC on Daylami is a nice boost :muscle:

Normally, Lt. orders can't be converted to regular orders. But Saladin's Strategos converts the Lt. order to a regular, which is very nice.

I'm not sure we've come up with succinct wording for the 15 cap. The rulebook says "Troopers," but that's not entirely accurate since the rulebook at times refers to peripherals as Troopers, but peripherals don't count towards the cap. "Orders" wouldn't be accurate either, since an Lt. or a troop with Tactical Awareness only takes up one slot despite generating multiple orders.

I guess, max 15 "order-generating Troopers" is maybe the best we have so far. The cleaner way to do it might be to edit the Peripheral rule to no longer call peripherals Troopers (reading the rule, it looks like they maybe intended to do that, but forgot near the end).

Anyway, you have 15 exactly in your list, you're good.

Re the list itself, you don't have much to do with your two regular orders in group 2. The KHD can toss out a couple of repeaters, but they won't do anything other than let your opponent's KHDs go after yours. So I would move the KHD into group 1.

If your looking to start infinity, I would pick a sectoral. In the past everyone used to say learn to play vanilla before tacking sectorals and fireteams. But since late N3 and now in N4 the game is more focused on sectorals and their unique synergies. I would just find it frustrating to buy a whole bunch of models to play together and then have to shelf half to leverage sectorals which is now a core mechanic.

As for your model choices they aren't bad. I personally find the Fiday an order hog. So when I play them I try to use infitrating models in the list. The infiltrating models are usually deployed controlling a zone. Because they are in the zone to start with you don't have to use orders to move them into position. This leave you more order for your hogs.
