    Hey people!
I started this beautiful game one year and a half ago with Military Orders. Got a good grasp of the game and what to do and what not to do, and I can now build some pretty solid lists (and whine about how Pano never gets nice things).
Of course I like many other factions and sectorials in this game so I got myself the Onyx 300pts box on sale, which is still sitting on a shelf, and enough miniatures to be able to build some Hassassin Bahram lists. After half a dozen game and some time spent looking at vanilla haqq profiles I am not really interested in playing Hassassin anymore.
There are so much profile variety and so much interesting ones in particular (Tarik, the bikes, Hunzakut, Maghariba, Krakots...) that I don't really want to be restricted to a sectorial!

So enough talk, I played two games this week against a vanilla Yu Jing opponent. He played a 10 order list with Sun Tze, Rui Shi, Daofei and Hac Tao. Here's the list I went with :

Seems balanced to me but I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing when building lists with that new faction.

So first game went horribly. We were playing one of the Kurage scenarios with 4 zones to dominate and 4 consoles to take. He got first turn and the Daofei shot Tarik, my doctor plus, a ghazi and engaged a Ghulam in melee. I killed something like 3 or 4 orders with the Krakot (man of the match in both games btw) but the Daofei kept passing every jammer bts save and a Guilang combi and the Hac Tao finished the job.
    .
Second game on Highly Classified, I went with the same list while he replaced the Daofei with a Ninja Assault Hacker. Got first turn this time and grabbed 2 objectives. He spent a lot of ordrers killing the Lasiq with the Rui Shi which bought me a lot of time, so I focused on doing the objectives and killing his specialists and he couldn't come back. Special mention to the Ninja dying to my Ragik in melee despite martial arts and surprise attack.

Basically, despite all my mistakes, it felt great to play. Better than MO (having good wips and efficient specialists and smoke) and better than Hassassins. There are so much interesting models and so much intersting interactions and things to do, and it plays so differently than enything else I tried (I am in love if you couldn't tell). My problem right now is that I have a hard time playing differently than how I play my MO (which is get in and smash face and live because armor and 2 wounds) but it ends up badly most of the time, but I guess that will change with practice and good advice.

I changed the list because I wanted to include more models

Dropped the Ragik for some speed bumps with the Daylami and a useful aro with the Warcor, and a fourth Ghazi. Kept Tarik even if he did nothing in both my games, love the model and the rules. I am still unsure if I'm building my lists right, should I try to include more regular or irregular orders? Is the balance between the two groups right? Do I bring enough aro? Enough specialists? I like the Ghulams but they feel expensive for cheerleaders (I'm used to fusiliers^^), maybe change them for Naffatun for better Deployment Zone defense? Also, should I bring more smoke grenade sources or are the 4 Ghazis enough? And how do you prevent a beefy model like a Daofei to get in your DZ and ruin your day? That's a lot of questions I agree.

Thanks for reading, don't hesitate to give me advice :)

I like the lists. I think you are right in that you might be just playing them wrong. Haqqislam is the faction of asymetric trades, as in, our models are expected to die. You have three infiltrated specialists, nothing should get to your deployment zone without having to kill at least one. Dont be afraid to lose your Hunz by just laying a mine against low ph troops or a repeater against heavy infantry if you have an assault hacker.

4 ghazi are one the best DZ defence systems you can buy - Jammer, E/Marat, Chain rifle and smoke grenades shuts down pretty much all close range assaults, especially with the E/Marat for HI/REMs. If they can get through that to your tasty backline, good on them.

I like your lists. The amount of ARO you need is up to your meta, personally I usually have two. On the other hand, having a few midfield troops and ghazis in your DZ means the opponent can't afford to push too far without overextending. Tarik is a rapid response vehicle who will happily punish an overexposed opponent.

Fidays are a joy unique to Haqq, so I'd suggest you check them out. Saladin is great fun, as is Kasym Beg.

    Welcome to Haqqislam!
