Howdy folks, After completing a couple major leagues with my USAF I decided I'd look in to a second army. I chose Pano because I really want something different than swarmy camo and massed orders, plus I love the look of TAGs on the table. Being a secondary army on somewhat budget I wanted to stick to a small force that was fun to play every now and then. The Jotumn is one of my favorite models and the rest of the Pano tags aren't bad looking either so I wanted to build a list around them. PanOceania ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 9 JOTUM Lieutenant MULTI HMG + Heavy Flamethrower, D.E.P. / . (3 | 103) CRABBOT Flash Pulse / Knife. () PATHFINDER DRONBOT Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 16) PATHFINDER DRONBOT Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 16) MULEBOT Hacker (EVO Hacking Device) Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 25) PALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) PALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) MACHINIST Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) SERAPH Spitfire, Nanopulser + AUXBOT_1 / EXP CCW. (2 | 82) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) AUXILIA (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle + AUXBOT_1 / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) AUXILIA Combi Rifle + AUXBOT_1 / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army What do you think? Is this list even feasible to run?
Double TAG lists will be very order-intensive, so I'd advise to try and push for having full 10 orders. PanOceania ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 JOTUM Lieutenant MULTI HMG + Heavy Flamethrower, D.E.P. / . (3 | 103) CRABBOT Flash Pulse / Knife. () TIKBALANG HMG, Heavy Flamethrower, Antipersonnel Mines / AP CCW. (2 | 85) CRABBOT Flash Pulse / Knife. () AUXILIA (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle + AUXBOT_1 / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) REGULAR (Minelayer, Sensor) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 14) MACHINIST Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) PALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) PATHFINDER DRONBOT Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 16) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) MULEBOT Hacker (EVO Hacking Device) Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 25) MULEBOT (Minesweeper, Repeater) Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army It could still profit from having a Hexa KHD to deal with enemy hackers, but there's only so many points to work with. Double TAG lists are very niche, because including two of them will really cut into points available for support structure. Basic strategy for such list would be to run lighter TAG (Seraph, Tikbalang) deep into enemy territory and leaving it there in Suppressive Fire, so that enemy loses orders and models to deal with it, instead of focusing on objectives or the rest of your army. Heavier TAG (like Dragao or Jotum) clears the way for the light one, deals with long range AROs, etc. I'd also advise to read excellent guide to TAG warfare by @daboarder.
Yeah, I'd ditch the EVO... It isn't doing much for you, and those points are very helpful for a full 10 Orders. If you're buying one Dronbot box already, consider adding a Pathfinder. You'll want that Sensor and Fast Specialist, and it can participate in Coordinated Orders (which you'll really want to make use of, with only 10 Orders.)
I had the EVO in there to defend the tags against hackers. With their high BTS and Reset is a hacker still necessary? Coming from Ariadna it's the area of this game that I don't have a lot of experience with.
Actually, EVO is very useful as a support hacker, especially if you run a lot of Remotes. As a defender against other hackers - Killer Hacking Device and a good Repeater network are your best friends.
Along the lines of the EVO hacker, is the cost worth it over say, a fusilier with a hacking device? 7 points can be well spent somewhere else and it seems like the only relevant program gained is Reboot.
Not Reboot. Selling point is Overclock. It allows every one of your Remotes with Repeater (Pathfinder, Fugazi, Peacemaker, Bulleteer) to start the game with Burst 2. Burst 2 Combi, Flash Pulse, Heavy Shotgun, Heavy Flamethrower (on Peacemaker the effect carries over to the Auxbot)... Additionally it has awesome synergy both with Pathfinder (no more -6 mod for Sat-Lock, great if you want to mark a target for your Smart Missile Launcher - Or HGL on Squalo), and with any Combat Jump troops. Bottom line is that if you're planning to use only Supportware you might be better off with Fusilier hacker, but if you're running a lot of Remotes and using Combat Jump EVO is worth every point.
I have written an article on the subject of supporting PanOceanian TAGs: http://heartofthehyperpower.blogspot.com/2018/09/supporting-ultimate-argument.html?m=1 You may find it useful.
If you don't mind going below 10, Joan might be a great way to do it. I never tried it, but in theory, it should work, as she gives you 4 free orders each turn using her SLO (which usually gets wasted in dual TAG lists, as the LT is usually a fusilier) I'd make something like this: PanOceania ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 7 2 JOAN OF ARC Lieutenant MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, AP CCW. (+1 | 49) TECH-BEE (Remote Assistant Level 1, Specialist Operative) Flash Pulse / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5) WARCOR (Aerocam) Flash Pulse / Stun Pistol, Knife. (0 | 3) MACHINIST Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) JOTUM MULTI HMG + Heavy Flamethrower, D.E.P. / . (2 | 103) CRABBOT Flash Pulse / Knife. () SERAPH Spitfire, Nanopulser + AUXBOT_1 / EXP CCW. (2 | 82) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) MULEBOT Hacker (EVO Hacking Device) Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 25) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) 4.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army The main weakness is everyone will focus down Joan as hard as they can, because its over if she goes down. If you keep her safe, you'll reap the rewards as they'll have spent all their resources trying to bring her down. Personally, I'd prefer 2 light TAGs. That way, you can use Joan, and still get pretty good units it, plus plenty of orders.
Won a 12 persons tournament with this list thought for decapitation (had to fight an Avatar in this one) and deadly dance: Dance──────────────────────────────────────────────────8 2 TIKBALANG HMG, Heavy Flamethrower, Antipersonnel Mines / AP CCW. Nope, it's not really a useful option unless it allows the Tik to bring something fun along for the ride.
Still didn't understand if you were surprise in a good or in a bad way: sorry for the OT, but I am just curious... It was such a bad list (keeping out the "Is not the list..." mantra)?
