Interesting - no profile changes? Just new look? I mean - it happend to Raicho, maybe rasyat also will be "blessed" somehow...as morats are a little bit far from popular sectorial (at least in my city) - and in vanila CA rasyat has quite strong alternatives like 2w fraacta and murdereous ko-dali...
A fabulous model that totally makes me want to get my MAF out again! @ObviousGray thanks for the pics. You think we could persuade them to tweak the E-Mitter profile to B: 2 and give us a really standout TAG killer? 1 RASYAT Combi Rifle + E/Mitter, D-Charges, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 31) Open in Infinity Army http://infinitythewiki.com/en/E/M2_Special_Ammunition
eh...doubtfull....I think e-mitter should be reworked...make it smth like zapper or boarding shotgun with em/2 ammunition? :) pity boarding doesn't have e/mitter...
I have a simpler solution to the e/mitter dude: make him an FO. There, now we have an AD trooper specialist, problem solved. But if we're talking buffs I'd rather the Rasyat got +1PH and +1CC. That would make me super happy. I do love the model, might get it soon (when I get that new raicho)
just curious - why would it make rasyat better? Why not some...mhm....impeteous order for example? NWI? mimitism?
I feel like Rasyats are pretty great as is, PH13 is about as good as you get for an AD:4 trooper, especially when it can be buffed to 16 with a hacker, likewise CC21 is among the highest around for AD, especially when NBW is factored in. The real strength is those Eclipse grenades though, having solid CC, the ability to deploy up the board, and a way to close the gap into b2b is potent. Add in D-Charges for classifieds and destroying AC2s and we're looking at a really decent trooper. He can earn his points just by coming in from a table edge and blocking the LoF of a totes remote or defensive Fireteam. The Rasyats biggest problem IMHO is being in the same faction as two other excellent AD troopers.
While Mimetism and NWI would be awesome, I don't think they'd add that to the Rasyat without a points hike. Impetuous is actually bad for an AD trooper as it forces them to deploy at the beginning of the turn AND strips off cover bonuses. This isn't a 14 points Yuan Yuan you can just throw away without worry. At PH14 the Rasyat is dropping at 17 with supportware, that's a very, very good risk to take if you're using AD4; This would already help with the fact the Rasyat is the only true surprise option MAF has and he is fairly short ranged and with MOV4-2 walking him from the side isn't such a great idea. Additionally, PH14 would make them drop smoke far more reliably. CC22 would just make the Rasyat a damn good assassin. At CC25 from NBW we're talking about critting 1/4s of the rolls and getting a +5 to win any FTFs he makes. That's pretty great for murdering basic troopers, perhaps better than his Shotgun or combi, which would be firing either at 18 for the shotty or 15 for the combi assuming you are firing at the best rangebands and at someone out of cover. TL/DR: Those two tiny buffs would make the Rasyat one hell of an assassin, but still a moraty one.
Morat Aesthetics 3.0 - Was easier to pass it off on the Raicho cos it's a TAG... But the Rasyat is super angular and has a bestial helmet. Quite far removed from the Morat 2.0 style, imo.
I think the new Rasyat looks pretty similar to the Raktorak. It doesn't seem like a completely left-field design change to me.
I think the forearm and shoulder plates irk me the most. The line tracing between the 3 studs, instead of a triangular plate under them. Also, the way they've painted it... It totally looks like the Rasyat has annihilated a Garuda and then taken to wearing it on his back. That cream/purple blend.
hmm...those tiny buffs cost almost same price as mimitism or nwi ) and if you ll use infinity calculator those buffs would add smth like 2-3% of efficiency considering there is face to face (vs 14 cc in melee or vs wip13 while AD)... Impeteous would also lower the cost and make rasyat to have an extra order after deploy...to throw its eclipse for example and completly block some line of fire ... After fraacta appereance - I never saw rasyats on the table in vanila CA ..i guess morats sectorial just has no other choice so...sure, for morats you might want him... 0_0
Except the baseline Raicho got +1 Wip AND a points reduction (She went from 91 points to 89). So I don't think giving a couple extra status points to the Rasyat would make him any more expensive, whereas a new skill certainly would. And yes, I am considering the Rasyat's effectiveness for MAF. In Vanilla CA there's little to no reason to pick a Rasyat over a Fraacta or Ko Dali and I doubt that's going to change anytime soon.
I would rather him get frenzy than impetuous because if your opponent fails to take him out in his turn he can continue his rampage a little more efficiently.
