Hello, I'm new to the game and I chose Ariadna. I picked up my US ARIADNA RANGER FORCE SECTORIAL STARTER PACK today. Any Advice? What should I look at Purchasing next? ETC.....
Welcome to Murica! I think the shopping list depends fairly highly on the units you are attracted to. It is fairly safe to say you will want to grab the USAriadna Grunts box, because you will need a lot of Grunts. Marauder of Minutemen box is also pretty useful, I recommend the Marauder box. 6th Airborne Rangers (SMG) or Van Zant for parachutist duties. Desperadoes box and Hardcases, 112 and more Foxtrot (BS) are recommended. I hope, this helps!
Here's the lists I've played at tournament this season. They show what kind of armies I like, and what miniatures I need, but not what fits you. But maybe it can be some inspiration. A box of Marauders. One more general Marauder if you can find it. A box of Grunts Try to get some more Foxtrots Van Zant Rosie A Hardcase If you need individual models, check out ShaeKonnit https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/split-box-deal-single-infinity-minis.1099/ Good luck! I would suggest doubling down and picking up a second sectorial box. Just about everything in that box you'll want multiple of. I like to run two Minutemen with x visors as ARO/supressive fire guys. Having two HF marauders will go a long way towards filling out the link teams you'll want to try in ITS 10. Two foxtrot FO's are better than one. The grunts weapon poses are pretty easily converted to make snipers, or if you're careful shotguns. Six of them total will give you options for both infiltrating and fire teams. As far as additional models, Rosie is almost an auto include in every list I make these days. I love the hardcase but I love the desperadoes more. Ultimately if your tight on funds go with the one you like the look of more. As always, a warcor is an excellent model to have laying around as well. Personally, I'd avoid throwing down money on the minutemen box. With ITS ten they don't offer much utility over grunts for the price and if you want elite options Marauders and their forward deployment are usually a better option. Also I can't recommend @TheDiceAbide's US sectorial guide stickied on this forum. He'll give you the model by model rundown better than anyone. TLDR: The priority I wish I had used when I bought US. 1-2nd six man sectorial box 2-Dire foes 9 with Rosie (Try Shaekonnit if you dont want the combined model or the civie (civie would make a good HVT though) 3-Marauder box 4-Desperadoes box (or two hardcases) 5-Van Zant-Always put him on your model tray even if you're not playing with him. 6-Grunt SWC box That'll get you up to 24 models with a few decent choices as far as a direction to take the army. Have fun and good luck!
First of all welcome to the Rangers, enjoy near ubiquitous ARM3. So it appears i'm something of an oddball I wouldn't recommend buying the Grunt box, I just don't find them that useful. I would recommend getting either the Marauder or Minuteman boxes ( I'm preferential to the Minutemen, again something of an oddity it seems.) but both will build you a good Core link. I'd recommend getting some stand-ins for another Foxtrot or two, the BS Foxtrot, Chasseur, Hunzakut, or a variety of other skirmishers all work, camo skirmishers the lifeblood or any Ariadnan list. the Unknown Ranger is a good unit to have, takes a little bit of figuring out how to handle properly but I've found him to be well worth it. I'd also suggest getting at least one of the Blackjacks or both, both are fun. an Airborne is also good, i'd recommend SMG over Molotok due to being a specialist but again both are good. Do try and get your mitts on Rosie thought, FDL1 and a LRL are great for getting to all those good firing lanes just outside the DZ. I'd recommend staying away from Mavericks and Desperadoes, bikes are tricky things and both myself and my buddy who plays JSA have had trouble getting them to not just die horribly.
After the starter pack, I would personally recommend getting Van Zant and Marauders. Marauders will get you to 300 points quickly, and Van Zant is just a ton of fun!
Awesome guys thanks for the Advice. Now before my head explodes with me trying to figure out what y'all are talking about (lol). What are some basics I can start with? I'm coming straight over from Warhammer 40k. With a Codex it tells me exactly how I can build an army etc. Is there anything like that for Infinity?
Best thing to take a look at is the Army builder (there's also a mobile App) it'll cover things like unit availability/stats/skills&equipment. is there anything specific you want to know or is this one of those " I don't know what i don't know, but i know i'm missing something" scenarios. this is a lot more free form than 40K (Glory to the God-Emperor of Mankind, and the Imperial Guard) list building there's only one requirement, bring a LT. but please ask questions, by and large people are always happy to answer questions.
