Something I have sorely been missing ever since Yuriko left us was a replacement character engineer that we never got.... Yeah, piss off Dickram nobody likes you we all know you were a mistaken Tai Sheng sculpt. However this guy is apparently in the betrayal box along with a very cool looking HI Adil who appears like he got his promotion to Crane rank or at least stole some armour off one. Fingers crossed we get profiles for him.
With the addition of new features available to them, as well as increased frequency of equipment and profiles that penalize a lack of them, it seems like CB's really pushing the use of engineers. With oppressive hacking programs and adhesive ammunition becoming more common than ever, 'the (supposed) HI faction' is going to be in greater need of a solid engineering presence than ever going forward. With our famous lack of solid options in that role (yes, Krit is absolutely pathetic), I wouldn't be surprised if Jeong was a laser-focused attempt at filling that gap. Hopefully he's at least better than the basic engineer. It's a low bar, but it's one that YJ consistently has troubles surmounting.
They published the first few pages of Betrayal and there Adil was presented as a Crane Agent. I can only guess, but I think the Adil we got a preview of was an Adil 10 years ago (during N3) while the one in Betrayal is current (during N4) rank.
Of course we'll get a profile! It's a miniature release for Infinity! This is the Ko Dali storyline, though, so what you need to ask is "will it be for Yu Jing or for Combined Army?"
If I recall correctly, those weren't sold as being for Infinity and they did have profiles for a few story missions. I might be way off on the last one there. Still, I'm fairly confident we'll see a use for these ones.
They did an Outrage mission pack with profiles, yeah. Even if they don't get unique profiles, we have a Crane, Mech-Engineer, Ko Dali, and a Legate (though Nourkias has a C1 profile already).
My money is on the betrayal being between Adil and Yu Jing, because it is what I would hate the most. Therefore no crane for us.

Ko dali and adil fall deeply in love and fly away in the sunset to create their own NA2, calling it right now.
If Adil gets a crane profile, I want ISS to be updated with a full crane core option. Maybe with Sun Tzu in it for the fifth slot. I've got all the models, let me put them to work.
Of course they’re promoting Engineers more now. Interesting hardware and complex interactions between that gear, troops, and the environment is what infinity does really well. It’s a rules/game space they continue to expand. There are toms of games about plastic dudesmen killing each other. There are less with good, fluid ways to handle hacking, robot assistants, giant robot suits, etc. Engineering helps keep those interesting assets in the game, and makes back and forth play concerning gear interesting. Oblivion and Jammers are becoming more ubiquitous but also easier to fix with less orders (gizmokits, more engineers putting techs actually on the level with medical troops for recovering vital pieces). They fit the pattern. Which is IMO an interesting one, and a good direction for the game, even as gear rules overall get simplified the higher-level play options surrounding them can increase through interactions.
I love the figure and will proxy with him at the very least! I'm saving my pennies for them. For once I can use all the figures too.
