hej, continuing my idea of a modular army list, organized in groups to be used in different game sizes, generic enough to fulfill different scenarios... The reason is pragmnatic: I want to learn rules and mechanics and want to avoid too many different models. I like the idea of a small number of models (15-20) which allow a lot of possibilities… In another thread i posted a winterforce list and learned a lot of your replies and tips - so i give it another try with a Neoterran army: The Idea: Group 1 (3 / 119) Forms a fireteam core and works as the backline. - 2 Bolt Sniper can work as powerfull turett. - Bolts have marksmanship, visor lvl 1 and fireteam core. Group 2 (0.5 / 80) Forms a fireteam haris and works as support and front. - Quin and the Pathfinder have forward observer and make the sniper turett more efficient. - Quin is diverse an does have some nice range. - Quin and the machinist can fulfill mission goals. - Bolt Hacker is also able to fulfill mission goals and brings hacking options which are repeated by Pathfinder. - Pathfinder and Quin are front options with sensor, repeater, forward observer. Group 3 (2.5 / 100) - 1+2+3 forms a 300 point list Group 3 brings firepower for agressive frontline and support - a very nice deva hacker brings more options. - 2 Peacemaker (Armbot und Auxbot) have forward deployment and add repeater and spitfires. — Although i like the list and ideas i do know that im a noob so im curious about your feedback and laughs :) What i did not achieved yet and would like to implement: A) get group 1 to max 100 points and 2 SWC, so that the first group can be used for 100 point games, while continuing beeing a fireteam core and having at least 1 bolt sniper... any idea? Pano is great at long-range firepower. I'd suggest you try a Swiss Guard HMG, Aquila Guard HMG, Squalo, or Uhlans. The Peacemakers and Quinn probably aren't going to be enough offense; an enemy sniper could really lock you down. One way you could save on points would be to skip the Haris and move the Bolt hacker into the link. That way you're paying for one less Bolt, plus your hacker gets Sixth Sense from the link bonuses. The first group is expensive, but shooting at 19 or 16 makes this Bolt fireteam one of the best ARO pieces in Infinity. Another decent and less expensive option is the fireteam with 4 fusilier/ csu + orc feuerbach. The third group is interesting as passive defense, the deva hacker is very good, but you don't have to discard the bolt hacker (he is more flexible). Take a look at Garuda FO, for 20 points it is great and the only parachutist in Neoterra. I agree with @QueensGambit you need a real horsepower! Thank you guys! I really appreciate and will have my fun to optimize / rebuild with your tips. As soon i have made it to something i like, you‘ll get my update… My todo‘s / thoughts are: A) more firepower! I will try Swiss Guard HMG or Aquila Guard HMG maybee ORC HMG? B) Reduce Costs of Team 1 I will get rid if 1 Bolt Sniper i think Maybee i will move the Bolt Hacker to the Core of Team 1 instead - but this would open a vector for attacks to that back line core fireteam via hacking - wouldnt it? C) Insert an aditonal possible Lieutenant Maybee the ORC HMG could serve both: A firepower & C lieutenant? Another thought i had with so many REM‘s: Wouldn‘t the Mulebot Evo Hacker would do great buffs to those? Whats your experience and or thoughts in that? Thanks!
i tried further options - added firepower with 2 orcs with hmg and lieutenant is less obvious. Still a modular team which can be played with 150, 200 and 300 points. Group 1 does a fireteam core with buffed snipers and works as backline in 300 point game. Group 2 does fireteam haris brings Firepower and forward observer. Group 3 brings the deva hacker which is repeated via the bulleteers to group 1 & 2. Love the idea but I feel like having two ORCs hmg is a bit much. You already have 3 potential lieutenants, the points could be better off on a locust to gain a bit of midfield or a peacemaker HSG. Hell, why not both if you get rid of the pathfinder. Taking the Garuda hacker or FO is a nice option to have, it gives the opponent the impression that a hexa KHD or MSR could be hidden somewhere if they don't count correctly
