First, about Emily and the grenade launcher: the problem was in N4 but harder because the fireteam bonuses were still +3 tops, so she would hunt at 10 for E/M (that's a 50% hit Vs the enemy dodge with LDT absence maluses unless 6th sense, then 2 PB/2 rolls to see if ISOlated state grabs...) OR 11 for Kusanagi with a more expensive Observancy core (but much much harder with 2 cenobites, wabara and a Moira, with the option of said Moira to carry another EM grenade launcher...).

Now in N5 the fireteam bonuses are 2 lower. While this lowers the success chances further, the chances are still there. To me, this is an unsatisfactory approach of "let's try hiding a problem into a very unlikely success option" which leaves it as a hail mary that yes, for the attacker may feel like a rush, but for the defender it's a VERY bad position to be in: every roll pressured to make the dodge or loss a critical piece to an attack that is half the table away not making any ARO but the dodge of those under the template, waiting for the other player to exhausts their willingness to spend more orders (or all their orders) because no matter how much you dodge, there is no escape (all EM grenade launcher troops move at least the same of what a troop can dodge even with Dodge +2'', so there is simply no escape to this situation, unless midfield deployed troops/mines/etc... force the enemy fireteam to do anything else).

Now Reset FtF the Guided attack, but the EM stays as strong as ever, with the only "nerf" being the Speedball option for removal of states.

Personally, I'd say those that used Emily will keep using her, and those who didn't, won't start now. The troop not having a general release model anymore may influece this for some, but I still see her as solid, and like the other two troops I mentioned, she does more than just throw EM grenades.

She is a solid grenade launcher in an environment were access to grenade launchers has been limited, people who thought before the speculative fire was too low to invest in will still not use her, people who saw her as a tool that is nice to have will.
