Slightly weird situation in a game last night- a ghazi moved into view of 3 units, 2 of which were in suppression fire state and one that was not. The ghazi threw smoke, rolling f2f against the attack rolls of the 3 units. So far so good. We were slightly unclear how to apply the suppression fire modifier to the ghazi smoke dodge roll but decided that it would be similar to how the -3 from a mine works, ie: the ghazi would be rolling against a target of 12 against the the two units in suppression fire and a target of 15 against the one not in suppression. Is this the correct way to play it? It would mean rolling a 13 for example would fail against the units in suppression but potentially succeed against the unit not in suppression and in this case would the smoke go down? My opponent crit on a 15 and we decided that it meant that he was hit by the units in suppression but successfully dodged the incoming attack from the other unit. We figured that the smoke wouldn’t come into play in the rest of the turn so didn’t spend too much time deliberating about that. How should we have done it? It feels like I’m missing obvious. Any help would be appreciated!

Correct, the rolled result is compared individually to reach Face to Face roll.
No, as you must win all Face to Face rolls for the smoke to go down.

Aha. You are correct and it was pretty obvious. I was poring over the suppression fire page on the wiki. At the time it didn’t occur to me to look at the smoke page. Thank you!

It does kind of suck that a crit against one enemy is a fail against the others in that single roll, but it is what it is.
