Assuming I have the below available to me and that I want to start playing them in N4, which of those Morat units should I buy and which should I avoid? I don't want to put any Shas or Drones into the list, pretas/gakis are unavailable and I'd probably proxy them until new release, don't like the current models.

I have zero knowledge about Morat playstyle aside from "reliable shooting army". I also have Kornak Gazarot already and the other sculpt for Raktorak from the one in the MAF starter box, which I can use as Kendrat if need be.

    Plz halp :3

    1) Morat Aggression Starter Pack
    - Raktorak Sergeant Major (CR + HF)
    - Sogarat Feuerbach
    - Oznat
    - Morat Vanguard Infantry (3x CR, 1x CR+HF)
    2) Oznat Morat Hunter
    3) Suryats (MRifle+LF, HRL, CR+LF, Tinbot)
    4) Zerats (MULTI Sniper, Hacker)
    5) Rodok (ML)
    6) Rasyat (BS)
    7) Raicho
    8) Yaogat box (BS, Spitfire, CR, CR+Panzerfaust)
    9) Sogarat (HMG)
    10) Kurgat (BS)
    11) Kurgat (AC)
    12) Morat Vanguard Infantry box (MULTI Sniper, HMG, Hacker, ML)
    13) Rodok box (CR, 2xLS, HMG, Hacker)

I think Morats is one of the armies that are more difficult to make projections for in the new edition.

To start with: To me, Morats have been excellent at 20 orders, and in Limited Insertion, but I have previously found it relatively difficult to make good lists for tactical window. Additionally, I have a feeling that Morats might see a substantial change in points values and some of their rules, so bear that in mind...

With TW becoming the new norm, I have begun to get more comfortable with the format. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, I have made more lists with this restriction in mind, and secondly, I do not have to worry about facing other lists in the 20+ order range. With that in mind, I have devised the following lists that I think would work quite well with the current points.

    Morat Aggression Force
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]5
    SURYAT (Tactical Awareness) HMG + TinBot A (Deflector L1) / Pistol, CCW. (2 | 48)
RAKTORAK (NCO) Vulkan Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24)
MORAT (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15)
MORAT Hacker (EI Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
MORAT Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]9 [IMG]1 [IMG]4
DĀTURAZI Chain Rifle, Grenades, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 14)
DĀTURAZI Chain Rifle, Grenades, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 14)
IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9)
IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9)
    R-DRONE Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8)
ZERAT Red Fury, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25)
ZERAT Red Fury, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25)
    SURYAT Lieutenant HMG + TinBot A (Deflector L1) / Pistol, CCW. (2 | 45)
    PRETA Chain Rifle / AP CCW. (0 | 7)
OZNAT Combi Rifle + Light Smoke Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0 | 18)

This list uses the Suryat HMG as a fire platform to open up striking opportunities for the other elements. There is also a backup HMG in the lieutenant, which you don't have to protect too much because the rest don't care if he goes down

This second list uses the Oznat/Hungries/Raktorak fireteam as a disposable missile that can be launched into the midfield and that will remain a threat there even if the primary shooters go down.

Both lists make use of Drones, which I know you said you didn't want, but I feel like they add a lot to the Morat arsenal in terms of disposable AROs and generating orders (because their line infantry is so expensive).
I also think the Raicho and Kurgats are really good when used well. Especially the Raicho with mine dispenser has a very neat way of engaging enemy AHDs hidden behind corners.

    Hope this gives some inspiration!

Yeah, but I'm the "narrative / thematic player" camp. I'm buying Morats mostly for the cool models, just trying to avoid some completely unplayable pitfalls :)

Then I think you should get all the models listed above, because they are all quite cool and can be made to work in a list with the right support. In my opinion the Yaogat have been the link option that has been hardest to justify because of points and MOV 4-2. The piece I would use is the sniper, but the whole link is too expensive and unwieldy compared to other units. However, the models look really good, and both points and MOV value are likely to change, so who knows!

Was it MI or HI going 4-4 in N4? I like yaogat for the MSV2 of course.

From what I have gathered, many HI will go from 4-4 to 6-2, and most or all MI are going from 4-2 to 4-4. Some examples of this are already seen in CodeOne.

Yeah, buying new models right before a new ruleset drops is a bad idea. We have no idea of what is going to stay as is, and what will change.

That being said, I think Rodoks are a safe bet no matter what, and Suryat Models look cool as fuck, so I'd get those too (Well, I have them :D). The only thing I wouldn't recommend from your list is the Yaogats, but they might actually become useful in N4, so... everything?

Really, it's kinda hard to tell right now.

As others have said, it's hard to say right now, but you might be undervaluing Daturazi. I think Dats and (yao)Gats is probably the best list archetype for Morats to dip their feet in, especially in TW.

At least in N3 it will be very hard to make good lists without the drons. Here's what I came up with.

Essentially you get a brutal Rambo LT to let you channel the spirit of the Morats; a brutal core link with a specialist and savage Red Fury for reach, some of the best odds for placing smoke and hand grenades in the game directly or indirectly; and then a MSV haris with a cost-reducing specialist and a spitfire and panzerfaust for trick shots through smoke. The rest is filler.

In terms of purchases, thats a box of dats, a box of gats, Raktorak, starter , Rasyat, and then the sogorat if you don't like to proxy loadouts forever.
