MO with 2 groups and ARO

    Since they have been rework the MO seem to be calling for a limited insertion format. It's enjoyable, fresh and fun, but you can't have that much ARO presence without exposing yourself to a lucky roll.

    Having a second groupe allows this expendable ARO presence.

    So I tried to recreate what I used to play in MO.

    G1 : Magister are here for strong ARO presence, backed up with TO Camo. The heavy rocket launcher provide a decent active turn piece for 80 cm shots.
    The lieutenant can do anything, mission, gunfight, go as a solo or take the link with him. I will probably save him until turn 2 or 3. TOFO can also do some killing or the mission.
    Doctor and engeneer for obvious reasons. A sergent with auxbot for defence and to hunt some midfield camo or clear a minefield (palbot can do it too).

    G2 : Expendable civilian to flash warbands and discover camo, TO sniper to have surprise ARO on the opponent last order (sometime I like to infiltrate them advanced on a roof on a side of a table and have them watch my side of the board to surprise a daring warband or camo from the other side of the board)

    Any idea on how to improve that ?

    Well, main problem of those lists, is open information about LT.

    Those lists are obviously also very "specialist' light.

    And again leaving your DZ with >24" fireleane might be a problem. 3-4 orders from TO MSR might not be enough orders to position them correctly and kill AROs.

    HRL OS (even in link) is still quite fragile and dicy against even medium-high ARO pieces (for example Frontovick HRL), if I recall correctly there are 50/50 chances (as +1B is usually equal to +-3 mods in sucess chances).

    In result: yes ARO are quite better (double TO MSR), but active turn efficiency is really low. Basicly if enemy decides to accomplish objectices (hello smoke), and just to setup his own ARO then you are in trouble.

    Coordinated Panzerfausts is another approach to dealing with smaller numbers of ARO troopers.

    Hum clearly active turn might be a problem if I have to cross a big firelane with some good ARO pieces. Thats is rare that you d'ont have other option but still ... maybe I could leave a spot in my first group and then I can move a TO sniper into this groupe if I see an opening for it to be an efficiant pieces.

    Which usually doesn't work if enemy happen to have a template ARO weapon (which are quite popular).

    I love TO MSR but I've already seen it's a bit fragile when it comes to shooting at dedicated ARO pieces (especially linked ones which ignore SS).

    TR drones are not a problem but if you shooting at even "normal" BS12 guy with link and MSR you are B2 on 12s vs B2 on 9s. It gets even worse if you happen to shoot someone like Frontovick (B2 9s vs B29s if you are not able to catch him out of 32").

    Also your other "workhorse" weapon is on LT profile. Having "bad day" with it against something powerfull usually means you are losing a link member, link breaks and you are in LoL now ;/

    I also find it a bit hilarious that we are all speaking here about nice Teutons CORE links without any Teutons. It's quite telling.

    There is no coherency requirement for Coordinated Order, you don't have to have them all look around the same corner.

    Yes, I'm more talking about the existence of more than a one corner where enemy ARO can be shot at. That's quite demeaning (terrain wise) and not something you can count on, especially for a link which you want to deploy in close proximity to actually .... well take advantage of fact they can link.

    (at least to my experience it would then require 1-2 additional orders to try to get 2-3 guys on different places without them all eating same template)

    On top of actually seeing only 2 an actual coordinated order to take someone down (hilariously enough it was against single CSU, other instance was more justified as it was against Swiss ML, but included AD, HD trooper, Infiltration trooper and sniper).

    Sure, but my idea was to have them in a link. So they are usually going to be packed at the same place.

    Here is another idea with the sepulchre instead of one of the TO MSR and a magister. I took the forward deploiement but it could be the chain of command for a buton pushing mission :

    Or with a crusader spitfire to get that B4 weapon to get out of deploiement zone. Could also consider the HMG.
